Yeah I think the top 8 in the West are more or less set unless the Kings catch fire late which I doubt, question is who gets seeded where. Jazz at this stage seem to be projecting to finish in the 6 - 8 range, and tbh I like potentially getting Denver in the 1st round out of the three scenarios.

Last week I thought we were scary WCF contenders. This week it looks like we'll be 47-35 with a 6 game first round exit.

Well we arent there yet. But i do truly believe we are a piece away. We all know we need another scorer, and probably an/or an upgrade at the 1.

I like the core of what we have, and sometimes we get teased that we can compete. We do need that missing piece to truly be there.
If Exum didnt go down that might have made a difference too because he was looking good right before.

For me it boils down to this. Below is what separates us from the elite or top 4 of the NBA. It's VERY doable, and I'm confident we will be a top 4 team in DMs prime!

-need continued growth from stars DM + Gobert
-need another scorer
- need growth from rotation players (Exum, Royce esp)
-need Ingles to be a 6th man type, and not have to do too much

7 seed vs Nuggets is not even a bad scenario. One of the few teams less experienced than us, and not built for the playoffs (IMO). Then you avoid GS until the WCF too.

We'll probably pass the Spurs and Clips though.

Agreed on both counts. Main thing to me is to avoid Houston and GS for as long as possible

I don't feel great about the Jazz heading out on a 4-game trip right now, regardless of competition. It would hardly be surprising if they went 2-2.

They're not going to fall out of the playoffs, but the odds for favorable seeding are growing pretty slim.
