Utah Jazz 2020 NBA Title Countdown

How about Kawhi? He might want a(nother) ring.

LA cleared 38 million.

Do giving those keep you from living in the real world? It's going to happen, no need to pretend otherwise.

Utah Gobert Mitchell's against The Hampton 4, CP3 and Harden, and LeBron, Kawhi, Kuzma, Lonzo, Ingram, Randle, and KCP.

You name off a bunch all star type players and then include Lonzo, Ingram, randle, kuzma, and Kcp?
I didn’t know you were such a big lakers fan.
It should just say Lebron and kahwi for the lakers portion.

Watcher reminded me of this thread and he's right, we need to at least start thinking about what champagne and cigars the boys prefer.

I feel like the Jazz could make one more trade to put this team over the top. It might be a Kevin Love, a Blake Griffin or an Aaron Gordon-type move. Julius Randle is also on a short-term deal. Lets see how this team gels. A team with Conley, Mitchell, Bogdanovic and Gobert, coached by Quin, is an attractive situation for a big-time PF to step into. That's a WCF/Finals-caliber team.

I’m kinda dying to talk about this.

-Love is out of the question. The players tied to the salaries that would have to be involved would absolutely leave the team worse.
-Griffin is better than Love, but the salary is still a big issue in terms of what you’d have to send out, made even bigger by the fit not being perfect. He’s also older.
-Aaron Gordon is basically the best fit maybe in the entire league. I’ve been trying to figure a hypothetical scenario where this could even be a discussion, but it’s quite fringe.
-Julius Randle intrigues me, but I don’t see NY trading him this year.

The big question regarding trades is what package you can even make considering that the Jazz kinda basically can’t trade a 1st unless they acquire an additional 1st, or the one from the Conley trade has conveyed. I don’t know if they can go back and re-negotiate what the pick is or not, but I would hope it is at least permitted that such a re-structuring could work.

Jazz would have to move Exum, Jeff Green, ...I don't know if they'd consider moving Ingles. I know it sounds like heresy, but with Mike Conley and Mitchell handling the Ball, Ingles becomes more of a luxury with the 2nd unit. You'd probably have to move his salary to bring back a $22M - $25M player. The PF you bring back might also be able to initiate a bit.

They could take another look at Portis and wouldn't need to send out Ingles, but the goal would be to add a 20/10 type of guy.

The Jazz would have to send at least one first rounder and likely two, but as far as I can tell that is impossible.

You can get to Gordon’s salary without sending any of the five main players on the team, but I would consider trading any of the non-Mitchell/Gobert players to make that happen. It’s just hard to know what the Magic would want and if they’d even begin to consider trading him. But you can be assured there would be a ton of interest.

Love makes the team worse.

Griffin I’m still not sure about given all the variables. Detroit would want a pick.

Love makes more than 22-25 million btw.

Yeah, I know. Love is around $30M. Griffin makes around $34M, so that's not going to happen. His injuries are too much a liability. If we were going to make an 'all-in' move like that, it would be better to target someone in their mid-20s as well. Orlando could move on from Gordon. The new ownership and GM didn't pick him as their guy. They have Jonathan Issac and will have Chuma Okeke coming in a year from now. They've also got Aminu as a defensive combo-forward.

I'm not sure who the Jazz would be looking at, but by mid-season things should clear up a bit.

I really don't want Love. In my mind we're complete with the troops we have in place. Even got my NBA Future's bet in at 14 to 1. Don't know if it's good luck, cause I'm not a gambler by any means. In the casino eating a buffet, and stopped by the Sportsbook to make two small longshot wagers. The first one already came in - Andreescu to win the US Open.
