*** Utah Jazz @ Detroit Pistons Wednesday October 28th 5:30 MT Official Game Thread***

Man Trey was awful in this game. The whole bench minus Burks in the 4th quarter was dreadful. When only two guys off the bench can get any points, and only one can get more than 4, it's going to be a long night most nights.

I wasn't able to watch any of the game due to work. But looks like we really struggled from 3. I'm curious how Burks looked off the bench, I noticed his plus-minus was pretty low

To be honest it seemed to me like, we weren't even trying to generate any shots from 3. In fairness i had to keep looking away from the game, but i can't remember many plays being run to set up a clean 3 point look. We were scoring well in the paint, so maybe that was what
Quin wanted.

Ugh...I just finished the game. Rough night. Great run at the end and big stops but Rudy can't give up an easy lay up with the game on the line. Hayward couldn't get going. I felt like there were some awful touch fouls. Burks was good but felt out of control at times. He was huge down the stretch. We just needed that one last shot to fall. Also, Rudy's dumb charge trying to dribble down the lane and dunk 8 ft from the basket. He's gotta dish that for the easy 2 and not get that dumb foul that took him out of the game. Man, we had a chance at that one.

Yeah, we needed Booker for sure. He's got that nasty edge that we needed tonight. Detroit got physical and we didn't respond well. Alec was definitely our spark after the Pistons starting playing hard after the Morris tech.

This is a good example of how Rudy cannot make up for Exum's loss. Jackson was getting in the lane all game by using either power or speed depending on who was guarding him. Gobert has to guard against both Jackson's layups and lobs to Drummond. Not an easy task.

That's a good point. SVG was doing a good job, too. You could tell they were game planning for Rudy. They were doing a great job trying to get Rudy off his feet and then dishing to another big for an easy two.

Sad for Favors. He played out of his mind and no one else showed up so he doesn't even get to celebrate his good game. Not sure why we weren't go back to Favors in the 4th.

He only took one shot in the 4th. Thats no good.

I know Quin wanted to rest him, but IMO he was put in too late (I think with 7 minutes or so left in the 4th). Not terribly so, but perhaps he should have been in a minute earlier. A minor quibble though.

Was the rest of the lineup on Jackson's layup Hayward, Favors, Burks?

Just wondering if Hood was the best option to be guarding the point guard spot in crunch time.

Yeah, Favors should have had some more touches in the 4th for sure. He had the hot hand tonight and was scoring efficiently. Burks hit a some big shots but he missed a bunch of big shots too.

On another note, Stanley Johnson is going to be a player. That kid didn't look like a rookie. Great body, too. I look forward to seeing how he does.

I fear Millsap just isnt going to cut it. Neither is Slo Mo. These guys are decent players, but we need bench shooting. We need a specialists.
I know both are great guys, and likable, but are they good enough to get us to the playoffs? Both play minutes, and are part of the rotation. We
need more from them.

Bottom line is that the Jazz won't win many games if Hayward is as silent as he was most of the game against Detroit. He needs to be better.

Hayward will be fine, but this is true. Our team leader needs to give us more. He was outplayed by several players on both teams. He sucked from the line.
Hopefully he'll come back strong on Friday!
