Bolomboy reminds me of Thurl Bailey. Better shot

Now that you mention Bailey, he seems like a really good comparison IMO.

I'm an admitted Bolomboy homer, but I'll say this about any player until I'm blue in the face: If they possess 1 skill that they can be "elite" at, you find a spot for them on your roster. I'm not sure about anything with Bolomboy except the fact that I think he can rebound at an elite NBA level. As of right now, I don't see 1 thing that Pliess does that will ever translate to an elite NBA skill. The choice is easy. Stick Bolomboy on the active roster, sprinkle in some D-League time over the course of the season, and see if you can develop this player.

Elite FT shooter.

IMO Bolomboy has got a few things going for him as potential 3 and D forward.

1. Very good rebounder
2. Developing jumper- already out to the corners from 3
3. Physical tools to switch 1-5
4. Ability to punish smaller players in post and around the hoop

He fits into a modern switching defense and he has the tool to punish switching defense offensively. Additionally he is a plus rebounder.

Ok, let's be real on discussing SL prospects. No one can be sure. A guy who is a bust in SL could turn out to be a player and vice-versa. A lot depends on the player himself, how much he works to develop his ability and the situation he gets into and the coaches who have an influence on their development. We can only speculate now. I think Bolomboy has a 50-50 chance, barring injury, of being as good as Sap, or even better. That is just my intuition, though.

You legitimately have an awful intuition. 50% chance?! Do you know how good Milsap is? How much of an outlier he is? Lmao.

Bolomboy really improved as SL went on. When Lyles wasn't on the floor he appeared to let the game oome to him. The stats comparison to SAP's rookie are interesting. I supposed his fate is tied to whether the Jazz decide to waive either Pleiss or Withey.

I'm pretty sure he's already better than most of the posters here. Except ncoloradowhatever. He plays ball, you know?

How often's he going to be at the line?

How often is the 15th player on your roster going to be doing anything?

On the Millsap comp, it's intersting to note -

Sap during his rookie year summer league - 22.4 min, 10 pts, 50% FGs, 9 rebs.

Bolomboy during this year's summer league - 21.5 min, 10 pts, 53% FGs, 8 rebs.
Any reason you're omitting the first three games Bolomboy played this summer? If included, the two are barely comparable, even with Millsap a full year younger than Bolomboy during his rookie season (not that summer league stats mean a damn thing...).

Per 36:

2006 Millsap: 15.3pts on .601TS 14.5reb 1.6ast 1.9stl 1.1 blk
2016 Bolomboy: 14.1pts on .521TS, 11.0reb 1.9ast 1.0stl 0.4blk

This doesn't change the fact that 50% is an awful figure to throw out there. Say 10% or 20% even. But 50%? That's stupid.
