So coming from you makes it oppositesies, I think.

What's the point of keeping Kanter over Big AL? Seriously, you people who think Jazz would win more games playing Kanter ( now or in the future ) over big AL are blind. Kanter is poor man's Jefferson at best. Why would you like to keep him if you have real Jefferson who is going to be at the same or better level for at least another 7-8 years?

Kanter is already a better rebounder and defender. Much better. And he actually gets to the FT line. Oh, and is in incredible shape and has a top notch work ethic and motor. There's also still hope that he can learn to pass out of the post better than Al. I believe Kanter will be able to score on par with Jefferson one day, but bring all the intangibles that Jefferson lacks.

Yikes, this is an actual opinion?

Man, this dude has been failing harder than normal lately.

I think Al Jefferson is more valuable than a couple of other players on this board. I voted off Marvin, even though I'm optimistic he will do well with us, because I think Al Jefferson has more value that Starvin Marvin.

Alright, UGLI, we gave this thing a fair go. Time to shut 'er down. I'm super sorry to see Al go, but majority rules and all...

Do you honestly see Kanter ever being as productive as big AL? Means 20pts/10reb player at some point?

10 rebounds? Absolutely. 20 ppg? Probably not. However...

defense? Kan > Al
rebounding? Kan > Al

Do we really need our 5 to be the focal point of our offense? Or would we prefer him to playing solid, competent defense, valiant rebounding, with a good enough of a midrange game to punish anyone who doubles Favors once he gets a good offensive repertoire?

It all depends on what you imagine this Jazz team becoming. Personally, I would be delighted with 15/12 from Kanter over 28 minutes of play, presuming we hang onto Millsap after the end of this season. I think many would agree in a sense that we don't want/need 20/10 from Kanter, seeing as we will have 3-4 other players that can fill in numbers like that.

It will all come down to 'fit'. Towards the end of this season, certain players will assert themselves over others. If Al + Sap/Favors is deemed as a better fit than Kanter, then Lindsey will probably trade him while his value is still decent. Many posters here are willing to bet that this won't happen, however. An even-scoring, defensively sound Jazz roster akin to the 2004-2005 Pistons is probably this team's very best case scenario, and a player like Al won't fit if we have growing offensive capabilities from players like Burks, Hayward, Favors, as well as future FA signings, and incoming draft picks.

Kind of surprised to see 2 votes for Alec.

Just a coupl'a rascals foolin around.

The most shocking vote to me is Colton voting off Kanter. Colton's not the foolin around type. (specially not on Sundays.)

Or both.

Seriously, though. Look at the team that's left. Make the best team out of those players. A team that is balanced, compliments each other well and you'd want to watch on a regular basis. Is Al on that team? In my opinion he's not.
From what I hear, Al is one of the first to say "nice shot" or "great put-back" when a teammate scores.

Of the remaining players, there are 4 bigs, 3 wings and a PG. Yes, Millsap can slide to the 3 if necessary, but he's primarily a PF. So, IMO, one of the bigs has to go. Paul probably has more trade value, but both he and Al are expiring contracts so a team is likely going to do a deal to get rid of salary. Al it is.

Huh, complement and compliment are two different words. This is honestly news to me.
