"O'Connor did not indicate the Jazz were looking to receive anything more than a trade exception for Boozer. "You don't have to do that,'' O'Connor said of getting players or draft picks back from the Bulls although the Jazz would need to get something even if it is very minor such as the right to swap second-round picks. "Just get the trade exception. Why not? It would give you an asset.''
The Jazz will get salary-cap relief with Boozer's departure and more next summer when Kirilenko's $17.82 million comes off the books. But O'Connor said the Jazz plan to look for depth with the loss of Boozer and not just wait until next summer...He said the NBA salary cap going up to $58.044 million (about $2 million more than many projected) was not good for the Jazz.
"It hurts as a matter of fact because it gives other teams money,'' O'Connor said.
