So, bottom line, all the other deals out there suck.
The stench of missed opportunity I fear is going to gather over the next 12-18 months
These dudes don’t grow on trees.

We’re talking about a very specific deal that didn’t happen because of us, not them.Deals don't always happen just because one side wants them to, though.
Clearly we could have had him if we wanted to pay the priceDeals don't always happen just because one side wants them to, though.

There better be a plan B.

No, you can't take back bothI agree with this - which is why I think the Jazz should try to make it more appealing to Orlando by being willing to take back Fournier and/or Biyambo. Give them a relatively clean slate cap wise, but lock up two starters that fit our timeline for at least 3 years. I’d be interested in seeing AG and Fournier as 2nd/3rd options with a deep bench behind them.
We’ll talk nuance next Thursday afternoon. Looking forward to hearing all about it.Nuance isn't your strong suit.
Alright, let's talk about Biyombo.
You'd be paying $17 million annually for strictly a backup to Gobert. ******. However, I think he'd be a pretty good backup and decent insurance in situations where Gobert goes down with injury. If you land on a PF/C that is better, you either are just sitting on Biyombo or not playing whoever that player is.
But lineups with Biyombo at the 5 you can switch everything. Still a very good rebounder and shot blocker. Competent free throw shooter, doesn't attempt field goals that aren't worth attempting.
It's a ****ing steep price, but I'd seriously consider it if the Jazz keep their finances in order otherwise (which would mean Hood, Favors, and maybe Exum are gone). And yeah, I want Fournier too.
The next Ostertag?Biyambo is a douche who played hard for one playoff series, got paid and has bludged since.
Could JJ play the 4?On Stanley Johnson.... Another drawback in my mind is I worry that he'd get more PT than Royce and I think Royce will be better than him. I'd hate for Stanley to get that time just because we traded for him.
Hood's value is tough to peg, but I can't see Hood and our second not getting us a lotto protected FRP... I'd rather get that return.
