VICTORY!!! LPGA to change policy on ‘female at birth’

and on a related note (not to hijack the thread or anything, sorry Katie...) but the Illinois legislature today passed Civil Union legislation, though I heard on the radio that it applied not only to same sex couples but also to elderly couples of the opposite sex who don't want to get married. that seems sort of like a new twist...

anyhow, I haven't found much by googling it, but here's one link:

The Pride in Utah blog I read posted a news item about this. Here's a link if you care to read it. https://prideinutah.com/?p=6672

So you're saying katie should feel ashamed because some people are offended by harmless actions?

I'd argue that those who get embarrassed by family members who make strange, difficult decisions to better their lives, while hurting no one, are the true narcissists. If there is a hell, I'm sure it's reserved for people like that.

One other thing that hasn't even been mentioned is the loss of family and friends. I fully expect that my own family will want nothing to do with me once I go full time as a woman in everyday life. Do you honestly think that is pleasant? It is very hurtful.
Hurtful? To whom? Your family? Your friends? Honestly, have you ever thought about how this affects your family or have you mostly been concerned about yourself? I guess the most important part of all this is, YOU DESERVE YOUR HAPPINESS! Screw the rest of the world.

I have been preparing myself for this for many years by surrounding myself with friends who support me fully. I am lucky to have built up a good support network.
Surrounding yourself with enablers to feel better about yourself is classic narcissistic behavior.

holy cow, Marcus, such vitriol? It's not an easy thing for anybody. I'm not sure there's even a word to describe your behavior in that response.

If you don't understand how disgusting this is, your parents did a bad job.

News this big deserves a new thread. There was quite a debate when I first posted the news of Lana Lawless suing the LPGA. I am very happy to see this news tonight. I commend the LPGA for doing the right thing, even though it took a lawsuit to do so. Now the LPGA agrees with me, and many others, that there is no reason to keep a transgender woman from competing. This is a wonderful victory for the transgender community.

Wow, they will double their viewership to 4 people weekly.

shut up, jesus

i fully agree with the op, but this thread is going to be really depressing

I'm sorry I offended you, you should be more tolerant however.

Its a simple fact though that God gave me an aggressive and thoroughly unpleasant personality. Since he made me this way and he does not make mistakes. I feel I have carte blanche to be unpleasant and you have an obligation to not only accept my behaviour but also to promote it and thoroughly endorse it. Otherwise, you will be pilloried as an opponent of personality diversity.

this is a wildly contrived scenario built on a number of specious and offensive assumptions, such as that transgender women have a significant athletic advantage over at birth women, or that any pga runoff could dominate the lpga

i dont have a dog in this fight, and am not against the lpga decision. and i think its patently ridiculous that anybody would think that somebody would undergo gender reassignment with participation on the LPGA being even moderately motivating.

That said, your statements here are utterly dismissive of very real sex differences. It should be obvious that any pga runoff could dominate the lpga given annika sorenstams relative mediocrity in the PGA tour. And it should also be obvious that things such as limb length alone should give transgender women a significant advantage over at-birth women.

One interesting aspect of this, though, is male advantage in spatial reasoning. Would the hormone therapy feminize the brain to an extent that would eliminate this advantage, or perhaps the people who select for this reassignment had more feminine brains in the first place...

sad world we live in.

i'm am really saddened by these "cosmetic" surgeries, no matter how much surgeries they do they are still a man.

i will cry a tear when i go to sleep tonight or maybe i should do a dolphinoplasty.

True story: I would accept 100 transgender children before I'd feel good about having one kid that's this big an *******.

Numberica is right; your parents failed at promoting within you a basic sense of decency and empathy.
