It was enjoyable for me as the playoff kicked off to be interacting with a bunch of people in the Jazz section that I didn't get along with all that well in the off topic section. We came together as Jazz fans and celebrated our team together.

To keep that going I suggested a hard rule of no unsolicited political talk in the game threads. It was deemed that existing rules covered this well enough.

This isn't a game thread but I think we can see here what happens when GD disputes spill over to the Jazz section.

It isn't about controlling or limiting expression. It's about a topic section being limited to discussion about that topic. It's the way ALL grown up forums operate in 2021.

Go anywhere else beside 4chan or yahoo comments section and tell me I'm wrong.

You seem to think racism is just people being mean to each other. Like should we not teach the massive amount of economic impact of slavery (and yes, slavery still exist, it's called the prison-industrial complex and it still disproportionally affects minorities due to the position systematic racism has put them in) and how much wealth that created for whites in this country, which still has massive massive impacts on equality? because that certainly ties into privilege, which by your standards is a no-no to be taught in school. You seem to think we should neuter the truth just so people can be homogeneous? That the only thing that should be taught is "be cool to each other and everything will be cool"?

Teach it. Teach all the facts. I'm fine with that. As for moron name calling, only a moron would not understand what I said when I said "teach everything from Native Americans THROUGH to the Muslims in 9/11". That means slavery. That means the Civil Rights Movement. That means everything from explorers until now with regards to US history.

Just do away with the privilege conversations. It's a changing narrative and it's not tangible. Privilege exists in all shapes colors and sizes. It's just a dividing topic when we live in a world with more and more and more to get upset about. Teach what the country did right and what the country did wrong. Embrace the good and make sure the bad doesn't happen again.
