My point is that I am sure we picked Deron Williams ahead of Chris Paul because of a bias towards a bigger guard. If we had ignored that point of comparison, would we have recognized better intangibles that set Chris Paul apart?

The intangibles of staying healthy?
 
The sooner Walt starts the sooner we get better as a team. His play goes beyond his stat line and will rub off on anyone on the court. If we start Key we're tanking from day one.

Sure, the point guard position is going to be one of the storylines this season. We have to let Key, Collier, and Clayton compete for it. For me, Key still has to show he can process the game like a point guard, Collier still has to show he can shoot, and Clayton is just starting at the NBA level, so we need to see more of him. And then of course we have to look at their defense.
 
One thing I’ve noticed about Clayton is his ability to often “see” what his opponents are going to do, or what his teammates could do, before they do it. That puts him in the right places on the court on both ends. He reads the game well.
 
I would love to see Clayton as our starting PG. I am much more comfortable with him that Key though I am sure there will be some growing pains.
 
I actually think Walt has played well but hasn’t shot it well. Not sure he’s a long term starter though.

I think the shooting #'s will come as he learns to get his shot off at the NBA level. I suppose there's no guarantee there but that was perhaps his greatest strength at the college level.

You can't really tell how good of a shooter is from 3 games....I'll lean on his pre-nba resume. You can never guarantee translation, but if his shot is as good as it seemed I think he's on track.

yeah, the shooting will come around. Even if he needs a high screen in order to get his shot off (at least at first), just that one action will spread the floor A LOT.

I know this will present some challenges, but I'm really curious about the offense with both WCJ and Collier on the floor. If you run pin down screens for WCJ on the weak side wing (which the defense would have to keep a very close eye on and bring the help defender way out to the 3pt line), then the lane is wide open for Collier—who can get there with ease. If Lauri is running pick-n-pop with Collier, and Nurkic is spacing,.... the defense doesn't have a lot of good options.
