The article mentions 2 tears. 2007 and 2011.
Right, but he tore his ACL last November as well.

I'm sorry, I meant 2007 and 2012. Two total.
It's ok I misread the article. The 2010 date was when they discovered that it was an illegal workout where he had had the first ACL injury in 2007. Still two ACL injuries aren't great. Hopefully he bounces back more quickly than Al did after his.
I think this is the "unsung hero" of this deal.
I predict Lindsey will trade away at least 1 of the expiring contracts right at the trade deadline - and go into "full tank mode" for the remainder of the season.
That would be my plan anyway... we'll see.
The second one shouldn't impact his game much, his offense was already close to 80% jumpers in 2011.

Technically, the Jazz have FOUR expirings: Jefferson, Biedrins, Rush and Williams. Plenty of cap room to trade one or even two of them for assets and let the other two expire in order to free up room to re-sign Favors and Hayward. I'm not optimistic, though. We had the ability to help some teams avoid the tax. But I trust Lindsey. He probably looked around, saw that teams were already starting to get their financial houses in order, save the franchises that can afford the tax and don't care about it (Lakers, Brooklyn, etc.). With what Lindsey did, I'm very excited about next year's draft. I just can't see Utah winning more than 25-30 games. A lottery pick, GS' pick and a chance to sign one additional good FA if we want. Why would we want to do that? We want those expirings. Trading one away would mean we would take on a multiple year contract. We want the space to be able to sign our own guys.
So I am going to say no. You are wrong. We will not trade one of those away. They all will expire.
Book it.
Then we might play the game again next year with less room and get like one pick next time.
If the picks stay in the mid-20's then we didn't accomplish much...unless the Jazz can trade up by combining picks. But that's going to be hard to do next year; those top 6-7 picks are going to be VERY valuable. And forget about trying to trade up from #3 to 1 or 2, That ain't gonna happen. In terms of payroll, it's a wash, I think. Jazz would have to pay the difference between floor and actual. This moves handcuffs what we can do at the deadline, so who knows if we could have gotten better assets in return. AS for the picks, there are usually 1 or 2 teams willing to sell a late 1st, just like what happened this year.As a side note: I can't say we really helped GS get better either. Iggy added to Klay and Barnes seems like a lot of headaches and issues with managing egos/hurt feelings.
I think we ****ing fleeced them if these pics are indeed unprotected.
