Watching the Mavs and Thunder play...

Dwill, knight, hamilton, thompson are Considered best shooters in the draft, after jimmer. Why so many want another big just baffles the hell out of me. Itsnfunny how the borg mentality consumes this board and make everyone think they know better than the scouts. There is a reason knight is considered a top three pick and yes better than the immortal and flawless kanter.

lol....

I guess we all see what we want to see.

Watching the final 4 teams play has proven to me how very far away we truly are.

Guards who can create. Wings that can shoot. Bigs who actually box out and shut down the lane. Attitude. Big shots. Clutch plays. Good coaching.

Everything we aren't.

Folks, there's a reason why we're in the lottery! And it isn't because we're "almost" as good as Dallas, Miami, OKC, and Chicago.

We don't play defense. We don't have a prime time scorer. We don't have three point shooting.

Keep in mind there's a big difference between having a bad offensive strategy, and simply struggling offensively in the conference finals. Playing good defensive teams can have alot to do with it.

IMO one thing that's become apparent in this series is Durant needs to develop a way to score that doesn't involve him starting at the 3pt line. His entry point allows the Mavs to play Kidd on him, help and recover. Add that face-up game from the pinch-post or from about 17-feet on the wing instead of 23 feet. From 17-feet he could rise up and shoot over Kidd all day, he can do the same from the 3pt line but not nearly as effectively or often. Then again, he's scary enough as a player.

The only way I see them trading Westbrook is if they can get a legitimate offensive power house big man.

I'm not so sure he's not OKC's best player.

Sadly, kind of legitimate. I don't understand the "Westbrook is a chucker" talk. The guy relentlessly attacks the rim, usually getting fouled or making the shot. He definitely needs to improve his crunch times decision making and overall PG skills, but that stuff comes with age and experience. Durant also needs to be way more aggressive and needs to develop a back to the basket game because he isn't the best off the dribble. Also, much of the blame can be placed on Scotty Brooks, but he is also a young coach and will learn.

Also, Ibaka showed weak man defense. How many times did Dirk spin baseline for an easy dunk off Ibaka during the series?
