From some of the tweets I am starting to wonder if Corbin might surprise. The C5 are being underrated. possibly Corbin as well. Yes the bench sucks.
I think the hunger, talent and aggresiveness of the C5 will surprise people.
I've said it before: we only need 8 players to make the playoffs. I think we can go 8 deep without conceeding much to any team in the NBA. I do have major doubts about our coaching, however.
bookies make money for the reason I find their predictions are usually fairly accurate. And I had Jazz at 25-29 wins so they are right in the middle where I think we will end up.
I would be absolutely dumb founded if this happened. I simply don't see it. Our best 8 players don't have enough offense and if they played this many minutes you can bet that either Favors or Kanter would foul out every night. I can't see these guys winning 45 games and I would rather they won 25 than 35.
You may be right. However, I rest my hopes on the simple fact that no other Jazz team -- ever! -- had this much potential at all positions. It really boils down to how quickly this team can jell or if some of our diamonds-in-the-rough turn out to be no more than broken glass.
Have you watched any other eras of the Jazz?
You may have something there ... if only we can bring back Billy Paultz!
We're going to.

"Give me dat ROTY yabish."
I say that.
or Adrian Dantley?
or...
Fantastic. But tell me who in their right mind wants to play in Utah? It took a few years and throwing a %$# load of money at Okur and Boozer to get them to agree to contracts. Utah either overpays for an unproven youngster who MIGHT develop or overpays for a veteran who is likely on the downside of his career. Sorry, no matter how GREAT the FA class is, the Jazz aren't getting a franchise player. And that's really the key: as much as we may love our youngsters, I fail to see a Stockton or Malone in the group. Heck, there might not even be a Horny amongst all of them. Oh, and note to mods: I meant "boat" load of money. Why? If this team made the playoffs that means that our core has blown up. All that with a horrendous bench. A kick butt free agency class and 31 million coming off the books.
It is certainly a win-win scenario.
If we only had a bench and a coach with brain...

people, don't fool yourselves, our bench is ok
this team will struggle most of the times primarily because we don't have a starting pg and half of this board actually may be better than our backup pg
if you think that trey3 can bring this team in the playoffs, than you have to stop playing nba2k on rookie level
i tell you guys, if this team will make the playoffs next season, there will be other pg as a starter
trey3 will not be ready for this team and core4 will not wait for him

When I see tweets about Richard Jefferson having an amazing body, or Beirdrins isn't as bad as he is portrayed than I know that Corbin is not being underrated at all. The C5 maybe but not Corbin.
I think we could if Burke can pick up his speed and start running and making the correct play while playing fast. So far, the accounts are that he is still trotting to half court and over dribbling/eating time, thus not taking advantage of all the really fast runners in the starting 5/ altitude advantage. There are also reports that he isn't keeping his head up, and by consequence isn't aware of wide open teammates.
Listen to Locke's recap of practices so far in this morning's tip off.
The other factor would be rotation. I think we have enough talent to snag the 8th spot if there are no unjuries, everyone gels, and player's minutes are proportioned to what they can contribute, but that is a lot of things to ask for (and could be said of almost every team).
