What's new

We need a backup Center

I’ve been complaining about him for a long time. I’ve also been complaining about needing to upgrade Mudiay and Jiang for a long time. The win streak blinded some people to those weaknesses, and it also blinded people to how much we’ve needed Conley, but I’ve consistently been saying this, as have others, it’s just that now people may be a little more receptive. But don’t worry. We’ll win a few games and people will revert back to forgetting what these concerns are. Until the playoffs, at least.
This... I've said all along that the Bradley thing is fine until things actually matter (the playoffs). Basically I'm cool with it for now as long as Jazz brass are doing their due diligence finding a replacement. Last two games in the pressure moments it has gone poorly. I would prefer they try Morgan there right now and keep looking for help... trade szn is coming... I think we've seen enough to know that end of the year we can't have Bradley on the court.

Except Bradley is actually a threat to score on p&r and good at settings screens? We are not a charity organization that would just give free PT to players that aren't good at anything, so please stop pretending that is the case with Bradley...

He currently averages 7 screen assists per 36 minutes, only 1 less than Rudy...

And from this you can easily notice that he is actually neck and neck with Rudy on a lot of those hustle stats even beating Rudy on those loose ball recovery and shot contested stats, so the kid clearly tries hard on D, he just isn't talented enough to be great on that end...yet

And as a p&r threat, you can clearly see Bradley beating Rudy as a roll man in pick n roll both at ppg and efficiency...

That's why I said I'm perfectly fine with what Bradley's been giving us and those hate towards him have been unwarranted. Not many backup centers in this league right now can just come in and give us more than what Bradley's been giving us. Let alone finding those from the likes of Morgan, Bogut, Udoh, Fesenko lol

bradleys not a threat to score. Lol stop being silly

Even 10 minutes would be huge. He was able to do that for GSW last year.
Cuz GSW had KD, Klay and Draymond, all above average to elite defenders to share the load so Bogut won't have to move much at all but you bet he will get worked and exposed on our current defense with Bogey, Conley, Clarkson, Niang all substandard defender

Any real facts or data to back up your claim? Cuz I know I do

data? His 4 pt average isn’t good enough? Do you actually watch games? I’m not sure what you want. Do you need an empirical study about how stiff big men without any athleticism, Post moves, or shooting range aren’t threats to score?

Are we really to the point where we need to argue for Bradley on this website? My goodness people. Take your fanatic glasses off. Our backup bigs are among the worst in the league.

He scores off pick n roll. He is crafty at catch and finish around the rim. He has a good floater and hook. Offense is more than athleticism, post move or shooting range. It'd be nice to have those things and yes I would love to have someone like Brook Lopez, Baynes, Bertans, etc. But we don't have these guys. I'm fine with Bradley and his offensive game. He will be even better if we run more offensive set for him and have him worry less on defense.

There is nothing crafty about him at all. He scores in pick and roll when defenses ignore him and off of putbacks... which is more than I can say for Ed.

He’s a basic bitch... got stuffed at the rim twice last night because he’s basic.

If he could defend it might be enough though... so far he’s not been great though.

We don't need a back-up center. Last year, Ed Davis was one of the best back-up center.
His stats :
2010-2019 : TS=58.2% ; WS/48=0.151 ; BPM=1.0
2019-2020 : TS=38.7% ; WS/48=0.061 ; BPM=-1.6

Snyder must play Ed Davis. He must restore his confidence.

Bradley gets way too much grief for this board. One reason is people see the difference when Rudy isn't playing. Duh.. Rudy is a top 10 player in this league and 2 time DPOY.

Many times Bradley was put in a bad position due to other players not being able to stay in front of their players. Losing the game sucked but I was thinking this might be the game. New Orleans is going to be a beast soon.

Jazz need to find a player who can match up with Ingram. Jazz lost because we couldn't stop him. Not because Bradley fouled or got block (i thought he got slapped on the wrist especially considering Rudy invisible foul).

Snyder's job is to win. If Eddie is going to restore his confidence it probably has to be by way of the G League.

Way tooo level headed for this board. You're correct it was Ingram with a lot of help from Favors particularly and some Ball passing that won this game for them. Ingram went off for 49 points, I might've given Davis a shot at redemption just to see if he could slow him down for a set or two.
