Yep. Good find. As the GOP tent continues to shrink, the fascists, kooks, racists, and gun nuts will become an even louder vocal minority within the party. I hope we see a blowout in 2024. A devastating loss is what’s needed to allow this current version of the GOP to die and begin a new more stable and sane conservative Party to arise.

You were duped by a con man. Many of us sympathize with those that were duped and are ready to move on and forgive. You won’t, because you refuse to own your mistakes.
Take responsibility for your mistakes and work to repair the nation. Or we we can keep going down this hole where the country is destroyed.
Then we can talk about real solutions and ways progressives can own up to their over steps. But we can’t do that until you stop trying to throw us into civil war.
You have a responsibility to work and help clean up the damage you’ve done. Until then, we’ll continue to wait you out until you self destruct, where we win as we always have. See how fighting against modernity has worked out.
You have a choice. If you don’t own your **** and adapt you will be left behind.

I thought this was a good read by a conservative. Democrats offer hope. They offer freedom. They may not have a perfect solution for everything. But they’re a terrific alternative to the party that wants to control what you can read, what kind of health care you can get, if you can vote, and if you should exist.

I think the Democrats running on "hope" would be despicable. They aren't going to deliver on that promise, it would just a an emotional plea that they have no intent to fulfill. They should run on "Common decency, mutual respect, sober judgement and inclusion." I'd vote for that. If they try to press hard into "hope" then I'll hold my nose while I cast my vote for Biden if his opponent is a MAGA-tard.
If Liz Cheney or Romney was the Republican nominee I'd have a hard decision to make.

Democrats have delivered on many of their promises before. Why wouldn’t they be able to do it again? Especially if they retake the House and build on the Senate (that’s a real problem)?

Worry not. Democrats aren't running on "hope". They are running on Trump. Their campaign will be single issue: Trump. Take a look at Biden's election announcement video. It has more Trump than the guy who is announcing his candidacy. As The Thriller put it "they’re a terrific alternative to..." That is what the Democrats are running on. This election campaign is going to be January 6th, and Trump rape allegations, and Trump criminal indictments, and Trump, and Trump, and Trump. The Democrats seem to believe that even a corpse could beat Trump in a general election and so that is the election to be featured in Democrat messaging.
They haven't delivered on their promises anymore than the Republicans have. Hope is a stupid thing for a corrupt political party to run on.
I don't know of you know this, the Democratic party doesn't give a **** about, they don't give a **** about me. They care about power, money and control... because they are one of two major political parties in the U.S..
The Republican party is bad right now BECAUSE they have become too ideological. The Democratic party is the one I prefer more right now because they are just trying to run a government while fleecing all of us. That's an arrangement I'm perfectly happy with. Give me a competent government that plays within the boundaries of a modern representative system and I'll vote for that all day long.
If a political party wants to pretend like they've got my back and we're on the same team they can go **** their self.

The ACA was pretty awesome. That was the largest expansion of health care since the Great society was first established. And under Biden we had vaccines distributed, economy recovered, Ukraine supported and NATO rebuilt, and infrastructure passed. I think if 24 ends up being a landslide year, the coalition will be large enough to blow the filibuster and enact change on gun reform, shore up health care, codify Roe, pass the John Lewis voting rights, and do something to address the Supreme Court.
I’d love to see evidence that they’re as good at fulfilling promises as the GOP. How’s that wall and has Mexico paid for it yet? How about infrastructure week, has it passed? What about Donald’s health care reform, two more weeks?
The ACA is a compromise with insurance companies and drug manufacturers, because that's who the Democrats answer to just as much as the Republicans. It was also largely a political failure because our system still sucks and now what I hear from conservatives is that Obama ruined our wonderful system and made costs go up. I know that costs were skyrocketing before the ACA and I'm not able to know what would have happened with no ACA. I do know that many more people have insurance than before and I think that's great. But Obama didn't win conservatives over with it, completely the opposite happened. It was an example to conservatives that Democrats were socialists and if they were to go unchecked we'd just go full-blown Venezuela.
You always seem to want to come back at me on this stuff with a point-by-point. All that tells me is that you didn't listen to or understand a ****ing thing I said.

Biden could come up with a cure for cancer and it wouldn’t win over conservatives. Hell, just look at how they’ve rejected the Covid vaccine.
I’m grateful that Democrats have improved the lives of millions. He ACA as imperfect has it is has given millions health care that otherwise would’ve been ****ed. The goal shouldn’t be to win over deplorables who have no interest in being won over. The goal should be to improve the lives of those who reside in this country. Sadly, only One party works towards that.
