What Do You Think The Kessler Extension Would Look Like?

Did the Utah Jazz tank on purpose or not? Have they been changing lineups, sitting vets, and playing big minutes to bad defenders or not?
He’s played for three seasons, and he’s been a solid player. He’s missed 50 games over the 3 years, but I acknowledge that he sat some for tanking purposes.

Unless I’m missing something, his strength is defense and yet we have been rock bottom. Maybe his advanced statistics show amazing defensive impact for the minutes he’s out there, but if he was so good, I feel our team numbers would be stronger. Cy always said we had a bunch of bum defenders around Rudy and yet we were still a top tier defensive team. He still won’t spread the floor and isn’t good from the line.

I think $30 million is a mistake. I know we want to keep solid young players but I think we need to keep a young player who might dominate come playoff time. I just don’t see that in him.

Kessler isn’t remotely any of these guys. He’s a 12/12 guy.
Ya there was no discussion taking place about that.
There was a discussion taking place about whether a center can be your best player and win a championship though.
Do you think Shaq, Hakeem, embiid, jokic or wemby can lead a team to a championship? That is what the discussion was about.

Sorry. I don’t read all the posts and I suppose I should before I comment.

My whole original point was that it’s not a good idea to give an offensively limited center $30+. Then I made a comment that teams win titles built around wings and guards. That turned into a conversation about Shaq, Hakeem and Jokic (although that Denver team wins nothing without Murray, Gordon, MPJ, Brown and a bunch of other really good performances on the wing).

But Kessler isn’t any of those epic centers, and I don’t think he’s a $30 million player. Now that the dust has settled on that 7 team trade, I think we should consider deals if Kessler’s camp is expects that much.

Kessler isn occasional a lob target and a rim protector. That is literally it. He has a very hard time guarding high pick and rolls, he can't really close out perimeter shooters and recover, and he makes half his free throws.

Jokic (although that Denver team wins nothing without Murray, Gordon, MPJ, Brown and a bunch of other really good performances on the wing).
Which team was it that won a title with a great wing and no other good players?
Don't move those goalposts so much. We are obviously discussing about if a team can win a title having their best player (and highest paid player) being a big. Jokic qualifies.
It's rare but it happens sometimes.

No. Y’all moved the goalposts and took my comments out of context. You know I was talking about our limited center Kessler but somehow twisted my comments to bring up Shaq and Hakeem.

You can win a title with an average center but you can’t win without great wing play.

No I took your literal statement word for word and proved it wrong. That's all. You simply typed something incorrect. It's ok we all do it sometimes.
