What Do You Think The Kessler Extension Would Look Like?

If he wants to start at 28 or 30 but have the amount descend maybe. I think restricted free agency is in his future.
 
Hopefully $25mil annually or less. If Turner is getting $26 then Walker should be getting closer to $20 with his resume (essentially 0 minutes playing high-stakes moments, hackable free throw shooter).

Furthermore, if his value isn’t high enough to demand a serious trade return, it’s not high enough to demand serious money.
 
I feel like five years $130 mil. Is fair, front loaded with a team option on the fifth.That way if it doesn't fit Harry's scheme once were trying he can be moved
 
Virtually everyone on the board knows this better than me, but if we sign him to ~5/150, wouldn’t that make trading him next to impossible with the new CBA? Hence why guys like Clarkson and Sexton weren’t able to fetch anything for us? Yes I know the latter was traded but we had to give away a 2nd to do so.

Every contract is tradable. 23yo double double centres don't grow on trees, I think at this age he's better than Rudy and has more potential. This is a big year for him.

And never forget that everyone knows better than you, always!
 
When was the last time an offensively limited center was worth $30+?

Look at the ones who actually do have some offense, and they can’t stay in one place because it’s just not good business to pay centers that much:

We all know what happened with Rudy and how his contract was an issue.

I guarantee Jarrett Allen will start being an issue in Cleveland when his contract hits $28+ next year.

Embiid will be an issue before long. Turner will likely be an issue in Milwaukee.

I’d say trade him rather than pay $30+

I reckon he's less limited than Rudy, he at least has a decent hook shot.

You left Steven Adams off that list and i reckon Rudy was a better player than all four.

Embiid's contract will be an issue because Embiid's body is falling apart, not his talent. (I hate Embiid and want the guy to be one of the biggest losers in the history of the NBA, he's a whinger)

Id pay him 30, what's the new cap going to be anyway?

I’m with you on Embiid. He’s annoying for sure.

In the NBA, you only contend with an elite wing/backcourt player. I just don’t see the point of paying a center that much money if we still haven’t identified who our elite wing/backcourt player it is that we will build around.

Back to spouting a bunch of nonsense I see.

Also you are discussing this in a quite antiquated way. It's the percentage of the cap, not the total amount paid. Defensively elite center are worth 1/5 your payroll. Gobert has helped get Minnesota to the conference finals two years in a row despite being last his prime.
 
I don’t want to get into an argument about Gobert. Lord knows we have had too many of those.

Paying somebody like Jarrett Allen or Stephen Adams a high percentage of the cap before we have identified our franchise player is just foolish. Rim protector is the last piece of the puzzle not one of the first.

It’s like a bad baseball team spending a fortune on a closer or a bad football team paying record money for a corner.
