What happened to Gobert???

Hes tired.

That's a hard buy unless there is some kind of nagging injury issue going on. Yes, I expect him to be a little bit fatigued, but he was given 8 days rest between the last two games. It's not like Rudy was the only person in the NBA playing overseas during the summer. He is just giving a really poor effort this preseason. I'll let it slide because it's just preseason, but so far it looks like he has added nothing of note to his game.

have you been in practice to see how hard they're being pushed?

I'll wait before I react to anything that relates to the preseason. I still think Gobert will be even better than he was last year despite what anyone can read into from preseason action or Int'l ball. He has a fire, and he will consume.

BS about holding back in pre season. He has NEVER started off a NBA season as the starter.Who the hell holds back when their going into a NBA season and you are the starter from the 1st day of pre season going forward. He's 23 years old with some 30 games as the starter for the Jazz ...and he's holding back ,that's laughable.
Those 30 games plus he started he had a 6'6 PG(Exum) with speed and length that opposing PG's had to see around and not look over the top of as they do with Burke.Opposing PG's see over the top of Burke and see Gobert and can and do adjust.Because Exum was so long and fast they couldnt see where Gobert was til too late.
This is why I think the Jazz will not be as dominating as it was those 31 games of the 2nd half. Not because Gobert has not improved but because the perimeter player at the point of attack can see him much more easily and their adjusting.

You may have a point here. I think it has been easy to overlook the impact Exum had on the team defensively. I'm not 100% sold, but you may very well be right.

to play the way he and Favors do to be really effective takes effort and grind. they may not be there yet and I'm fine with it. If you have ever played basketball at competitive levels you realize how much of a beating you take during a game. Take that times 100 because these athletes are huge and it is basically a wrestling match down there. They may not be ready to start the grind. I think we will be fine, but do understand because Rudy has looked off. He is smart competitor though and he will adjust.

Adams is a total ahole on the court. He should foul out of every damn game. He's a good player don't get me wrong, but his job is to pound people while on the court and try to piss people off and he is great at his job. He should have been called for about 3 push in the backs last night... they were fairly obvious. The best was he pushes rudy in the back and gets the rebound... Rudy blocks his shot cleanly and they call a foul... just awesome.

I've been saying it all summer. I have concerns. He has a long way to go before he is a "known" commodity. The league adapts quickly to his type. They have taken him out of the game on the defensive end by bringing in shooters... Then when he is on offense we are playing 5 V 4. It's not gonna be easy, but I do believe he can adapt as well. Just will take some time.

They haven't even been going small on him. Len worked him. Meyers Leonard worked him. And last night Adams worked him. He's looked a combination of soft and untalented.

I noticed last year quite a few times where Exum was able to stay in front of his player just long enough to slow him down and give Rudy time to come over and get an easy block. Going to be an interesting next few months.
