The only setback I can see with these recent moves is that Corbin will probably get a pass this year in terms of wins and losses. Jazz would have to have a epic meltdown (like a 2-20 start) for them to ditch Corbin.

Taking that into consideration, Corbin has no reason to hand over major minutes to Jefferson or Beidrins or Tinsley. These guys are just place fillers for one year. There is no upside to playing them.

That could have and was said about last years roster.

If Corbin screws up this year the fans will be ready to lynch him. I can't see any way he's stupid enough to not give the 5 young guys major minutes. Half of me hopes he does just so I can see him fired. Because I believe he's a terrible coach and may be the reason we become the SAC. Kings or Clippers of old.

I'm sure the FO has explained to Corbin what the upcoming season is all about: developing the youngs.

Besides, our vets probably couldn't even hold their own in the D-League. I'm not sure even Corbin would start them. Then again, he did start Roger Braille.....

Everyone needs a lucky ping-pong ball to win the lottery. Worst team has the best chances at 25% (and hasn't won it in a long time IIRC).

I was just saying the vets are WAY worse than the youngsters. So if Corbin goes brain dead and overplays the vets, Utah still loses games. But I doubt that happens. The trade demonstrates the Jazz are fully committed to playing hard, but with a team that has absolutely no depth or bench: a recipe for 50+ losses.

I think ceiling is 30 wins and likely is 25. If the Jazz win more, than it will be due to having 2-3 of their core5 playing at an incredibly high level. If we lose a top-10 pick under that scenario, I'm ok with that. I think we finish in the 5-8 range in the standings. I have absolutely no expectations of landing Wiggins or Parker. But I do see this draft as having tremendous talent 1-6. And possibly a couple others rise into that group.

I'm not worried about Ty not playing the youngsters. Lindsay has sat down with Ty and told him what he expects from Ty as a coach this year if Ty still wants to be a coach at the end of the year. And I bet wins and losses weren't talked about at all.

The Jazz wanted the young guys to get playoff experience before they were handed the keys. Al and Paul couldn't do it. Now it is the youth's turn. The goals last year compared to the goals this year are completely different.
