What's new

What next moves do you WANT to see?

On the one hand, we have people worrying about needing to attach an asset to get rid of Collins.

On the other hand we worry, if we were somehow able to trade Ingram for Collins, that Ingram would walk at the end of the year.

Not sure that those worries fit with each other very well.

My main thing would be to do everything I can to eliminate the worst case scenario. The worst case scenario is finishing the season and going into the lottery with horrible odds for a top pick because Collins, Clarkson, Lauri, and Sexton were all playing 30 plus minutes per game and we were trying to win them all.

Do what it takes to get rid of Clarkson and Collins. That eliminates the worst case scenario. Nice thing is that it also increases the odds of the best case scenarios happening (top 5 pick or the current young dudes balling out with bigger roles)

I would love to see this

You missed the part where we also get the second and third picks.

Ingram walking is as much a bug as a feature.

The priority now should be developing and understanding what you have in Kessler, Hendricks, and Keyonte. With potentially 3 more first round picks next year, we don't have the luxury of giving each of our young guys tons of time to show potential. Having Lauri should really help to put them all in good positions to show what they can do and to develop. I'm pretty sure that Hardy is on board this year and will prioritize the young guys, but if not then Ainge will need to do something about Clarkson and Collins.

It has been reported several times that we're going towards a youth movement and I'm all for it. Coaching for development is totally different than coaching to maximize wins and I agree that Hardy will be on board. I'm not too worried about JCx2 taking up too much PT. We barely have any vets to begin with, so there will be ample time for all the youngins.

I think it would be interesting to see Lauri used a bit differently this year. The way he’s been used the past two seasons is most likely his ideal role, but this could be a good opportunity to see if he can expand his game a bit and play with the ball. Whether it works or not, it’s a win-win situation.

I'm torn because I really like watching Kessler and especially Sexton play, but I think they move the needle the most outside of Lauri. I feel like the Hawks could be open to a swap of Capela + 2 first rounders for Sexton and Kessler.

They changed the way he was used this past season. They are going to go back to what works better this year
