What would you give up for Brandon Knight?

I love guys that are hungry but I am not seeing how getting good grades makes you not hungry anymore.

I love guys who struggled to get to where they are at but grades I don't think are a good indicator........

I think getting millions of dollars would effect someone being hungry or not more than getting good grades.

I'm just working off of the limited info that we have about him... I just don't feel that "hunger" in him.

It's part of the reason why I wanted Kanter over Knight 2 years ago... even though Kanter didn't play college bball, he seems to have that "hunger".

But Kanter changed his diet and doesn't eat as much as he used to, so I'm not sure he has that hunger anymore either.

I can see how he would seem to not have that fire. He might not. To me he just seems more reserved to me. Like a Duncan type personality.

If someone is a gym rat I would consider them to have enough of the fire.

If someone doesn't work hard in the gym and seems to be not very passionate on the court than I think we can worry.

You could be right, only time will tell. My guess is he'll struggle to be a full time PG or even SG in this league.

Let's re-visit this in 3-4 years' time.

(Note: I remember having a "let's re-visit this" convo with you 1-2 years ago, don't remember what it was about though.. lol)

Something I am an expert on.

Knight is just as good offensively as McCollum.. he's just still adjusting. He's actually a fairly good comp with McCollum, a lot of similarities.
Knight never missed a day of school in his life.. never had even an A- .. was a 4.3 gpa. VERY smart. VERY good shot. More of a combo guard though (like CJ).

Biggest knock I have on Knight is a lack of a first step.. makes him a bit of a liability on offense. No sagging by the defender.

I'd trade #14 for him, for sure... but nothing more than that.

I am Jako/xthren and I agree with this message.

Haven't read anything in this thread?

Is Burks for knight crazy? I might do it.

It seems Detroit is not as high on him as they used to be. I know KOC was in love with him before the draft but luckily drafted Kanter. As I know a few posters on here were mad we drafted Kanter instead of Knight. Show your faces!

Do you think we could get him for cheap since his value has taken a dip?

I would rather trade up to get Burke as Dennis said we are aggressively trying to move up but if we can't.........

Who would you rather have Brandon Knight or Larkin/Schroeder?
Well, let's see.
What would I give up for a PG having such per36 line when starting:
3.6/8.4 2PT, 1.8/5 3PT, 3 FT attempts with 75% accuracy and mind blowing 4.5 assists with 3 turnovers.

Let's see how well fares our beloved backup PG Jamaal Tinsley circa 2012.
3/7 2PT, 0.7/2.5 3PT, goes to the line 1 time with the same 75% acc, 8.7 AST with 3.7 TO. Almost twice more assists with the same amount of turnovers. If you give him 2 more shots he would score almost same points per36 as BK.

I believe, we need a solid young backup PG who would be able to replace Tinsley's production so I would trade this year 21 for him and Detroit's 2nd rounder next year or Murphy and two our 2nd round picks.

I'd trade Marvin Williams for Brandon Knight (and whatever garbage Detroit has to toss in to make the salaries work out).

Would you guys do a Burks & Knight straight swap?

I wouldn't.. but sounds to me like you guys love Knight. To me Burks is "hungrier" and seems to have more "fire" in his belly.

You've ran the hunger thing in the ground.
Not a single post sounded like anyone is in love with him, either.. please don't derail with misinformation.

I might swap even. I'd have to give it a little thought.. but my first instinct is no.

If you've seen "The Hunger Game" you would know what a bit of desperation can do to one's motivation........ straight A+ students aren't "desperate".

You are such an idiot sometimes. You know how desperate a kid sometimes must be in order to overcome everything around them in their lives .. to be able to focus, have consistent dedication.. and to achieve greatness over a period of years and years? I'm actually becoming offended that you are somehow making a claim that kids that get good grades aren't hungry.. or motivated.. or have a fire.. or whatever.

You take your guy with his pants sagging but has that 'look' in his eye... that barely made it through school because he's a bad boy..... and I'll take the kids that do it right and don't need to prove it through their 'eyes', to you, that they're a winner.

Subject closed for me because it's retarded.
