What's new

What would you give up for Brandon Knight?

Hmm.. kinda like if you ask me would I rather have Kemba Walker or Brandon Knight, I'd take Kemba.

He's just seems more "Hungry".

I won't even take the A+ student thing into my consideration.

I see what you're getting at with being hungry, it was the implication that A+ students aren't hungry that I didn't get. An A+ student, generally speaking, is going to be far more driven than a B or C student.

You say things much nicer than I do.

Yeah I think it's a bit of mis-communication. Sometimes I find it hard to get my point across.

What I really meant was: I would think that an A+ student would tend to have "something else to fall back on" if the basketball thing doesn't work out. That's the reason I think, all else being equal, that the guy who only has "basketball" to go on with, would be hungrier to succeed as a basketball player.

It's nothing to do with their intelligence, or work habit or anything like that.

Anyway it's just one of my crazy "theory".

You are such an idiot sometimes. You know how desperate a kid sometimes must be in order to overcome everything around them in their lives .. to be able to focus, have consistent dedication.. and to achieve greatness over a period of years and years? I'm actually becoming offended that you are somehow making a claim that kids that get good grades aren't hungry.. or motivated.. or have a fire.. or whatever.

You take your guy with his pants sagging but has that 'look' in his eye... that barely made it through school because he's a bad boy..... and I'll take the kids that do it right and don't need to prove it through their 'eyes', to you, that they're a winner.

Subject closed for me because it's retarded.

Amen to that.

CJ McCollum's interview at Jazz workout:

"I had solid players (at Lehigh)," he said. "But I also had some doctors, lawyers and guys that are going to be working on Wall Street."

I was thinking along the line of, guys who are straight A's students have other "options" to fall back on.

OK, that makes a little more sense. Still not buying it, though.

Maybe but it's because of their determination and work ethic that they have that. Meaning it seems to me your "theory" is bassackwards.

Lol @ folks complaining about Knight.

I mean... Really folks? Who was he supposed to pass the ball to? Have you seen that Detroit roster? It makes the city even look good. St. John Stockton could come and play PG for that real and struggle to get more than 5 assists per game. Those guys were the California Angels before Christopher loyd came and helped make them good.

Knight might not be a physical or top PG. but I'm not going to judge him too much with such a small sample size and on such a terrible franchise.

I like Knight.. but he didn't exactly pile up the assists at Kentucky either. And there he had tons of options;

Darius Miller 40%+ 3pt shooter
Doron Lamb 40%+ 3pt shooter
Kyle Wiltjer 40% 3pt shooter
Terrence Jones
Deandre Liggins
Josh Harrelson

He would have most likely had many more if Kanter would have been available.. but he still should have had more than he did.
