What's The Last Movie You’ve Seen?

Wind River

Pretty good. If there is 1 criticism it's that it was probably a bit too short. Should have made it about 20min. longer. BTW the scene Wes mentioned near the end wasn't actually all that bad - don't avoid it just because of it.

Interesting tidbit, it was filmed in Utah.

Thinking about this a bit more. The story in this movie really was a beautiful metaphor for how the American Indians are treated in this country. The way that Indian girl was made to run through that icy/snowy field mirrored the way the indigenous people not just in the States but all around the world are 'pushed aside' at times to the margins and are forgotten.

It really made me think a lot about those things and some of the images did stick with me. It's a real pity it was a 30 minutes too short, many of the themes could have been explored a lot more. It really had a great set up and is still worth a watch irregardless.

Yeah when you said it was one of the hardest scene to watch I was thinking along the line of 'Irreversible' or 'Last tango...'. Those for me were hard to watch, Wind River really paled in comparison.

That's fair. I don't know the latter but I've heard Irreversible's scene is pretty brutal. I want to see the film but it's not on Netflix anymore.

The trailer I saw for it cracked me up. It had a line like "by the time you find the body I will have made another snowman" or something. I think the unintentional comedy will be high with this movie.

Sent from my SM-G935V using JazzFanz mobile app

And the snowmen they show look dumb. Like CGI or something. Stupid. The book was really solid. It "covered" an interesting topic, though not in any meaningfully intelligent way really, and I'm the sure the movie does even less with it.

Manchester by the Sea

Slow burn, but cuts pretty deep. It literally is kinda like the sea, nothing much to see on the surface but it's very 'deep'.

Thor: Ragnarok

... was FANTASTIC. This is what happens when a Marvel movie is pushed to its limits. Funny as hell. Could. Not. Stop. Laughing. Wasn't a fan of Thor and had to watch the first 2 just to see this one, but it was well worth it. Thor as a character really came out of his shell in this one (unlike the first 2).

Can't wait to see it again when it comes out on DVD.

You've really gotta see it.

I haven't seen it, but want to because the director did What we do in the Shadows and The Hunt for the Wilder People.

Yup he's great. Very creative, very funny. I also have just found out after the watching the movie that he actually played one of the characters... I think you'll have fun guessing which character it was... LOL
