What's The Last Movie You’ve Seen?

Not sure why anime fans are such bitches when it comes to this movie. If you actually like anime you should be happy for the creators of the series to get more exposure and money. It will only help anime get more exposure and be taken more seriously among Western viewers.

I am happy for them. I just don't enjoy the movie versions since they tend to suck most of the time.

And I don't care if the anime has more exposure among Western fans or not. Actually, I hate anything that I like turns popular and commercial. It has a soul before that, then it becomes the food for cluelessly consuming masses of "Western" people.

That is immature. You should be happy for the people who created art that you enjoyed to have commercial success. Commercial success/ popularity and substantive art aren't mutually exclusive things.

They definitely are not. Ideally, this would be the perfect scenario having your favorite production becoming more successful and popular. But from my life experience, most of the time when they hit the big stage or worse someone else takes charge of the cover project and pull the concept of it to a lame point where it gets spoiled, you just see it and think "Dang it why don't they give it to someone who knows how real fans dig this thing" . But actually what they (the new producers) look out for is how can they change the bits of the thing in order to make it as populist as possible. For instance I am a big Conan fan but they crap on the entire Hyborian World every time they shoot a flick.

Yeah but the original still exist. It will get more fans just because people who have never heard of the anime will see the movie and might be influenced to see the anime.

Anyone know if I should see Ghost in the Shell in 2D or 3D?

I loved the anime, but I think I'll give the movie a try. I can always hate but, but for $10 I mean what could go wrong?

True. But this does not mean that I have to go see it too.

Yeah but its a 30 foot tall Scarlet Johansson wearing **** all and giggling for 2 hours, i'm sure that will kids into the cinema. I'd go watch it if I didn't hate going to the movies and could stand the public in general.

Attack on Titan movie was pretty good... so I guess it is possible to make anime fans happy.

Just watched One More Time with Feeling, a doco about Nick Cave, his creative process, losing his son, getting old and well the whole damn thing is just generally full of pain and great beauty.
