When will Ty Corbin grow the balls to bench Bell?

Can you point out a situation where Bell made a mistake? I don't mean just sucking , or missing a shot, but completely blowing an assignment or failing to operate his part in a play?

Last night there was a time when he was guarding Lawson. Nene had the ball on the right block as Lawson cut through the lane with Bell trailing. Bell turned his head and Nene hit Lawson for an easy layup. Hardly an example of the veteran smarts Bell is alleged to provide.

He's turnover last night when he tried to put the ball on the floor and pull up for a jumper and just fumbled the ball away to the other team comes to mind first. If I went back and watched the first two games again, I'm sure I can give you a list of at least 10. You aren't seriously arguing that he provides anything positive to the team, are you? Not turning it over or not blowing an assignment defensively would'nt necessarily equate to that anyways.

He was pathetic last year and hurt the Jazz when he was on the floor far more than he helped, and a lot of apologists attributed that to him coming back from an injury. I'll tell you what, I read all the propaganda about him being 'healthy' during the preseason and he has shown no signs that he is any better than last season. He was signed to knock down an open shot, but primarily to defend. He's proven to be a poor shooter and even worse defender.

I think he was being sarcastic but nonetheless Bell sucks. I see the Jazz trading Bell/Miles + Harris or Bell/Miles + Jefferson

Damn, why couldn't we get homework assigments like this when we were in school. Mistakes by Bell are plentiful in just about every game. I don't know how many times I've been watching a game where Bell has made a stupid mistake and thought "if <insert rookie or second year player's name> had done the same thing, Harpring would be commenting and Corbin would be thinking about how it was a 'rookie' mistake and the guy probably gets pulled".

Sorry, CT, that I didn't see this sooner, but I'll try to remember it's here and help you out a bit.

The biggest thing that drive me nuts about Bell is he doesn't run with the ball handler on the fast break. Instead of getting in position for a dunk or layup, he pulls up to the three point line. He looks scared to drive to the hoop. If it were Ronnie b, he would be throwing down dunks on allyoops from Hayward. That's why Burks or miles needs to start.

The only thing Bell has to offer is a jump shot which isn't falling. So basically he is completely useless.

I'm also frustrated by his inability or unwillingness to drive to the hoop. I'm pretty sure it's an inability because he never really drove to the hoop when he was younger. He excelled as a spot up shooter with Phoenix, but that's not really available to him in the Jazz offense. And now he doesn't shoot unless he's wide open, and even when he does shoot he usually misses. I think his defense isn't as bad as everyone says (he had a nice strip on Kobe that led to a fast break), but he's certainly not the alert stopper that he used to be. I'd move G-Time to the 2, slot Howard at the 3, allowing him to play with his former Mavs teammate Harris, which should boost his comfort level, and then rotate Bell, Burks, and Miles at the 2/3, and slowly reduce Bell's minutes until they're at the 10 min to below mark. And then he'll be on the bench where he belongs, not playing and offering great advice to younger players. I think he'd make a great coach.

I think Raja sucks as much as the next person. I think he starts because he really doesn't make any clear mistakes (other than just sucking in general). Burks and Howard are new, but they may eventually take Bell's spot. I think Corbin is set on Miles being the bench scorer.

"he really doesn't make any clear mistakes (other than just sucking in general). What an intelligent thing to say. I agree that they should bench Bell, just because we have young players that are hungry and ready to come off the bench. If Raja sees the bench it may cause him to have a little more fire when he checks into the game.

lol, no surprise here, Corbin likes Bell starting:mad:... so forget about any balls.

""But, ultimately, I don't think it really matters if I make or miss my three shots in a game."

Yes it does Raja. Notice how we have fallen behind big time in almost every game you have started over the last year plus? Maybe a SG needs to be to S or the team is constantly playing 4 on 5. And your D is way over-rated, not enough to make up for your woeful O, especially when you contribute nothing else on O: no assists, no drives and dishes, no 3 balls, no ball handling, nada, zip, nothing. Man up and retire please.
