What's new

Where's the Thriller's thread on 141% voter turnout in St. Lucie County, Florida?

Oh, that's right. He only gets self-righteous when the right seems to pull some shady ****.

141%, that's pretty impressive. They must have really got after it during their grassroots meetings.

We might have to get OB or Colton on this, but something doesn't sound right... I just can't quite put my finger on it.

Could be because that percentage is wrong. There were two cards cast per voter so actual turnout was 70%

I'm starting to hear about this type of malfeasance in a lot of voting districts including Ohio and Florida.

This is the case. Voter turnout was 70%, not 140%. The statistic cited was for "cards cast" not "votes cast." Each ballot had two cards. So if you divide the number of cards cast by the number of eligible voters then you'd get 1.41

Here you go. Link goes to the st lucie county supervisor of elections page.

"NOTE* - TURNOUT PERCENTAGES WILL SHOW OVER 100% DUE TO A TWO PAGE BALLOT. THE TABULATION SYSTEM (GEMS) PROVIDES VOTER TURNOUT AS EQUAL TO THE TOTAL CARDS CAST IN"

Where's Wes Mantooth's retraction of this thread?

Didn't you learn anything in gradeschool math? It's not politically correct to point out math stupidity. It makes kids feel bad, and curbs their imagination and creativity, and might even fester math anxieties.
