I'm utterly dumbfounded by the amount of responses wanting to sign guys like Monroe, Bledsoe, and even my mancrush (Parsons). As much as I hate to admit it, but why sign my mancrush, if we plan to use Hood? These vet free agents are too good for our team. We have 7 core players, many of which we've had for over 3 years, and still don't know what the hell they are. Why? Because every bloody summer we go out and sign vets.
Stop taking away pt from these core guys. I truly want to find out what kanter and Favors can do. Is Burks a player or not? Start Hood from day 1. Gobert Report and Exum deserve 20+ mins next year.
I love Parsons and to a lesser extent, Monroe. But if we sign these guys then I fear we're really slowing down the development of Kanter and Hood.
Use this year as a tryout. Bring in dudes from all over. Have a tryout at ESA. Roll with our core 7 and a bunch of no names. Maybe we find another wes Matthews diamond. Maybe not? What's the worse? We suck and score the lottery again next year? Awww.
Had our weak organization fired Corbin like it should have and hired Hornacek, then we could have used all of last year to find out what the c5 was. Then we could make better FA signings because we'd have a better understanding of what our roster truly is.
Of course... With Hornacek I doubt we have as bad of a record so maybe we wouldn't have Exum right now...
I think Evans, Marvin, and JLIII are good vets to have.
Gasol and Pierce won't sign with us; they're looking for more rings. I do like the idea of going after JYD. His connection with Snyder might do the trick. He'd be the defensive 3 we need.
Evans? Who are you talking about? Surely you're not referring to Jeremy.

Why not?
I just don't consider him a veteran. I mean I would base being a veteran a combination of how long one has been in the league AND playing time.

He's 27 yrs old, mature, and a great lockerroom/teammate. But I can see your point.
I really like Parsons. But doesn't he essentially take away from Hood? Parsons is a 30 min starter. Is he going to give that up to come split time with hood? Or Hayward?
