Yes and No.

I'm not really a fan of Iverson, but he still was a great player. He had all the talent in the world. Pound for pound one of the most skilled ever. He was just a selfish guy who didn't elevate his team a good as he could have. It wasn't that he wasn't capable of it, cause he was, he just chose not to.

I don't think you can say he's a massively overrated player. But ya, I wouldn't say top20 either. As far as skill level though, he was right up there. He could do whatever he wanted.
 
Iverson took a Sixers team without much talent to the Finals (even though talent league wide was low). You got to give him some credit for that.
 
What if Jordan never comes back from baseball and the Jazz win back-to-back Championships, are Stockton and Malone both top-10 locks?

Bonds single season record is nothing compared to Stockton getting 12-14 assists a game for 7-8 straight seasons in a row or however it was. No one will ever come close to touching Stockton's assist record. That record may as well just be locked away in Fort Knox. It will stand the test of time.

I tend to agree, but with how good at shooting everyone in the league is becoming, it is plausible if the right player lands in the right situation.

Where as in baseball, the trend is becoming less power hitters because of the stricter doping rules.

Also Lance Armstrong's records.

But as far as non-drug induced records, Stockton takes the cake. Jack Nicklaus is pretty close though. Tiger got close, but he fell off hard. It's hard to see anyone coming close again soon.

I've never put stock in a players legacy being dependent of whether or not they won titles. Never been a prisoner feeling I needed to say Magic was the better pg, because he wasn't. Just like I'll never say TD was a better pf then Malone. Malone was simply better in my opinion.

My point is someone got close to Jack (Tiger). Someone did come close to Bonds. (McGuire, Sosa). No one has or ever will come close to Stockton. Then add in the steals record. Stockton truly dominated at his position.
