Go on ahead and look at their per36 numbers from last season (both players age 21 season). Just cuz a guy is different doesn't mean his ceiling is higher. If JB simply shoots it close to what he did in college he's a backup pg. THT is one of those guys that people talk about his potential and then say if he just fixes his shot, learns to finish, can move his feet a bit on defense then he will be a pretty good player... so if he becomes a player different than the one he is... cool. Also he's a guy that they are like "look he needs to play with the ball in his hands with shooters around him and then he can show his real potential". It ignores the fact that there are likely 5-6 guys on every roster you'd rather handle the ball.
But it really doesn't matter how talented a guy is... you just have to be able to justify that we want to see what this prospect can do. There is no weird fan tolerance/approval for who they will accept with development minutes... and Ainge doesn't care even if there was.
