Picking up his option is an easy yes. I'm not even concerned if the Jazz trade him or not. A cheap wing is not a bad thing. Corbin really started cutting his minutes the last few games, and I would expect C.J. to have to earn more than 15 minutes of game time going into the year.

I'm for the Jazz picking up his option, seeing Ty and the team's direction at the start of the year, and making decisions on individual players (CJ, Devin, Big Al) once we see how it all works together next season, barring some no-brainer trade that falls into the Jazz's lap.

With the Jazz going nowhere next season, and with their current and future cap flexibility (no contracts guaranteed beyond the end of the 2012/13 season), I find it extremely hard to understand why so many around here are so eager to dump productive (this word really only describes Millsap...definitely not CJ) players who will have new roles and/or a low cap number next season. Very poor asset management by the knee jerk jazzfanz.

My vote goes to giving him his qualifing offer and then doing every thing possible to get something in trade for him by the deadline. But by the deadline I would like him gone. No signing him beyond this next year no matter what.
