Hendricks has a chance to make a lot of lineups work if he can really space the floor and be a guy that can cover up for others on defense. I just don't think it's fair to expect anything from him to start the year.

Obviously we don't know if he can play right away, but assuming he can I'd want his minutes in the starting lineup. Even if he can only play 12 minutes a night, I'd want those with and against starting units.

Collier
Keyonte
Ace
Lauri
Walker

I think the Jazz are going to lose Ace in seven years, so they have no time to waste with him, even if he's currently not ready. If they get a top three pick and that pick takes two years to be ready, we are talking about the Jazz having a 3-4 year true window with a ready Ace, before they have to make real trade decisions on him

That's actually quite likely. It kinda fits the well-established timeline for the American-born players drafted by the Jazz: they lost Mitchell after 5 years, Deron Williams - after 6, Hayward - after 7. Kirilenko and Gobert lasted longer but they were foreigners.

I would've said Collier before summer league (and I know it's summer league) but it just felt like Collier was slipping. I think he'll get chances but I'm not sure about him starting. That would mean Keyonte starting at PG (not ideal) and I think Brice would be the SG opening night until Ace can take the wing spot later in the season. Then I think its Hendricks or Flip and my guess would be that they don't start immediately with Hendricks to let him get back into the swing of things. So Keyonte, Brice, and Flip.

Wow, if true this sucks. Is SLC really that much worse of a market than other small markets? Or is Ace and his representation really that against SLC? Or are you just basing this off of our recent history with Hayward, Deron, and Donovan?

There is a difference between who should start and who will start, especially start of season (i'm assuming we mean actual season and not preseason).

I'm guessing it will be skewed towards vets. I have Keyonte Flip and Brice. End of season it'll be Flip Ace and either Keyonte or Walt. Hendricks remains a wild card -- if he does really well, and if Flip does really well, I think it makes Lauri a stronger trade candidate. If Walt explodes then Keyonte will come off the bench. If Cody pops off he may go to SG and move Ace to SF, and Hendricks to the bench. It'll be a fun season.

With Lauri Traded, and if everyone popped off:
Walt
Ace
Hendricks
Flip
Kessler
6th: Keyonte

Bench:
Collier
Cody
Brice
Anderson
Nurk

- George

My lineup would be:
Key
Ace
Lauri
Hendrix
Kessler

Hardy lineup will be:
Collier
Ace
Bryce
Lauri
Kessler

Or does Ace not want to be in any small market period and wants to be in a big market?

My lineup would be Collier, Ace, Flip, Lauri, and Kessler.

Hendrix isn't ready. He didn't even get any summer league action, and I don't see anyone ahead of Ace that'll beat him out.

Man, what a tall freakin lineup.

Yep. We all should be hoping that he becomes a long-term starter. He's just not going to be in the greatest spot to start the year.
