That’s understandable to me. Although I doubt I’ll be able to google up Biden saying “kill them right now”. Strange thing to put in quotes.
I greatly admire the courage of demonstrators in Putin’s Russia. Always wonder how many times can they do that without paying rather dearly. I greatly admire their courage.
I recall Trump wanting to use our military against American demonstrators in his first term. Even asked if they could be shot in the legs to disperse them. I expect I will be transferring my admiration for ordinary citizens of Moscow, to my fellow Americans, and demonstrations against any act, words, decisions by Trump. We will see dissent in America met with extreme force, if Trump has his way.
So, yeah, of course the warnings should continue. Don’t expect much positive to come of it now. I expect Trump 2.0. I expect some degree of Christofascism to be pretty ascendent in Trump’s next term. I expect we will experience, to an uncertain extent at this pre-second-Trump term stage, a little of what’s it like to speak out in Putin’s mafia state. Or maybe a lot of what it’s like.
Not sure my personal response, but Resistance is enlivening, it has that positive aspect.
