What's new

Who would have thought that it would be a Utah city...

I'm not surprised by this at all. I'm also not surprised that no matter how far the city has come, or the progress that is made, the LDS church gets raked. It ruined an otherwise good article for me.

It's weird, but I'm proud that overall, SLC has overcome (or at least, seems to be coming along) the idiot stereotypes.

I'm not surprised, I lived in the heart of Sugarhouse for many years.

John Amaechi said that Salt Lake City was the gayest city east of San Francisco.

THat may be. However outside of Utah this state has a very conservative repoutation.

True, but Salt Lake City (and Park City) are hardly very conservative.

True, Salt Lake city is to Utah what Austin is to Texas. A refuge for non-conservative types.

That is true but it is not a known fact. Outside of Utah people with no connection view Utah as extermely religious and weird. They picture people dressing as missionaries for every day life. Nice to see word get out that Utah is not what people think it is.

Good for Utah for showing people that this state is not the stereotype that people think it is.

Is it really the gayest city in America? It has tendencies and might lean, but I doubt it ever bends over.

Ina class at the U, a gay group came and spoke to my sister and told them they loved Salt Lake. Although the popular religion disapproves of the lifestyle, the people overall are still very nice and they don't face much of the bigotry experienced in other parts of the country. (Obviously this excludes the Bay Area and other large cities).

Just goes to show that you that even though you disagree, sometime vehemetly, does not mean you cannot get along

This is definitely true.
There are way too many liberals harboring in downtown Salt Lake and Park City.
I just don't understand the convictions of uppity type liberals that think everything should come free, and be given to everyone from the government.
