Whose Minutes Will Burks Get?

His passing is being overstated by his biggest homers. He has a lot of improvement he can do coming off the pick-and-roll and reading the help defenders. Most of his career has been taking one of just two options: trying to beat the man in front of him for a layup, or making an obvious dump-off pass. "Good passers" can do much more than this. "Serviceable" is probably a better description.

I actually think that Burks looked fantastic in his role off the bench last year. He was playing within the offense and was shooting better than I had anticipated. I think he's responded well to Quin's style of coaching. Wouldn't be surprised to see him get good minutes as soon as he's healthy enough to get off the restriction. I'm expecting him to work his way into the playoff rotation by the end of the season, and hopefully that means that the bench will be even more formidable once everyone is fully healthy and clicking on all cylinders.

At this point I only wanna see him play handle the ball well and make shots at a not-too-terrible rate without being sidelined for the rest of the season. The rest will unfold with a
healthy streak and we shall watch clutch layups from him in post season. Yes post season. POST SEASON ... PLAYOFFS. It has been a long time hasn't it?

That looks great to me. The ability of the Jazz to pair Gobert/Favors together for stretches and then keep one on the floor at all times with Diaw, Lyles and JJ taking 4 minutes is going to end up being a godsend once everyone gets fully healthy. Jazz can go big or small ball to match up with different lineups. Lots of flexibility with this roster as currently constructed.

In big games I think Hill gets more than 32.

I actually thought he was a pretty good passer. But I can live with this if he can shoot over 35 percent from 3. I think last year before his injury he was at 40 percent.

I like Alec, but he is a below avg passer for a 2. Makes the obvious passes, but has little creativity. Far below Boris, Jingles, Hayward.

Burks was easily top-3 in the 6th man race last year before the injury.

Yup. If we are in contention, I'm afraid he will be odd man out.

I'm actually a big Dante Exum fan, but I realize that his development is going to be a long-term process. If he wants minutes, he needs to take them and play well in his opportunities. Assertiveness is a skill that can be developed. He's shown more of that over the past two seasons. . . I'd like to see more. This team has possibly the deepest roster in the league and is built to win now. I'm perfectly fine with him having to earn his playing time, and think he'll be better in the long run for it. Plus, I'm still convinced that the Jazz have the best developmental coaching staff in the league. He's shown improvement and will continue to do so. Not giving up on him yet, but I'm glad the Jazz don't have to rely on him at the moment.
