Wilbon: Jazz a 55-win team next year with Steve Nash

Look at Goran Dragic now, nuff said. Nash can teach, imagine him teaching Kendall Marshall... Guy could be Averaging 12 points/15 assists a game once Nash sets assail.

Nash will be chasing a ring. As much as we want to candy coat it thats not happening here in the next 3 years.

If I were O'Connor I'd give this serious consideration for the Jazz. Clearly it would depend on what Nash is looking for salary-wise. For $12-14 million/year? Probably not. But for $7-8 million, absolutely. Unfortunately there's a large gray area in the middle.

If the Jazz are going to look for a short window of opportunity then this might be OK. Other wise it doesnt make sense at all to hire an aging veteran who has maybe couple of more decent years left. It definitely doesnt make sense for Nash too to come to the Jazz. Jazz should either stick with Harris or look for a younger PG with upside to drive their young team fo the next 5-10 years. Plus with Nash on his team the coaching staff will have their hands full trying to hide him on defense. With Devin, you dont have that

Nash is looking for a team that will pay him past his 41st birthday. At the end of the 2014-15 season he will be older than John Stockton was when he retired.

He makes 11.7 million now. A reasonable deal would pay him about 20--22 million over the 3 years.

The Jazz should make this offer if they can secure Lillard or Marshall in the draft and move Harris.
