Dante could become a star. His athleticism has that look to it. But he is on the slow path and who knows if he even sniffs his potential.

One thing is he is gassed too often. His stamina is not what it could or probably should be. Every once in a while he looks strong and shows flashes of greatness but too often he has his hands on his knees and is gasping.

Look at these photos of knackered Dante:

Maybe he doesn't like Utah and it makes him tired. Maybe he has something wrong medically. Maybe he isn't eating good enough. Who knows, but a 21-year-old with access to training staff should probably be more fit even after ACL surgery, which was well over a year ago.

Those photos aren't very convinving tbh.

I think George Hill is largely a system player who is a perfect fit for Quin's spread-floor system. I think Exum can match or surpass Hill as a defender and also as a finisher at the rim. However, Exum has a ways to go to match the body control, efficiency and in-between game of Hill.

Agreed, those types of pictures were brought up his rookie year as well. Most players are tired on the court. Some put their hands on their knees or hips some do not. Exum breathes through his mouth a lot, I know they worked with him some on that earlier in his career but it does not really matter that much. He is passing the endurance tests and still has plenty of energy and burst in games at the end. He still runs a lot while on the court and does not seem to slow down much or not run later in games. It is a non issue.

George Hill is half god half bulldawg, so it depends on genealogy really. Is Exum half god? What animal did god use as his birthing vessel. I will browse my family.com and get back with you.

I guess the same question can be asked about Hill

Pretty much this... even Hill has never been anything close to as good as he is right now. Very few players have had a season with similar efficiency to what Hill is doing right now.

He may cool off a bit but I don't know what part off what he is doing is totally unsustainable. He looks so deliberate and he's been our most consistent player. I don't see Dante passing him anytime soon... I mean will Dante ever be as good as Mack?

I've been thinking this. He's obviously never put up these sorts of numbers before and I do expect some regression. But watching him play, he just looks so comfortable and in control with every play he makes. He's putting these numbers up relatively quietly really.

This has always concerned me. From day one.
