And if they both do what will our record be at the end of the season?

No and No.
Should be No and Yes,
especially if we maintain a Top 5 defense.
But while Gobert may get adequate press this season,
he won't beat out Davis, Gasol, Duncan, Aldridge or Howard...
this year.

I think our record will justify one of them getting the nod, probably Hayward. If we ended up getting both into the game we'd have to be on a 50+ win pace.

Barring injury of course...
Locks to be in the All-Star game:
Davis
Curry
Thompson
Harden
CP3
Lillard
Gasol
Griffin
Westbrook
Durant
Cousins
Aldridge
Kobe

That leaves 2 spots left. Gobert & Hayward would have to beat out the following players:

Green
Conley
Randolph
Howard
Leonard
Parker
Duncan
Nowitzki
Jordan

If we have the best record in the West leading up the All-Star Break, Hayward and Gobert will be all-stars. Anything short of that, I doubt either makes the team. The west is too loaded...

As much as I like him, and as much as I think he deserves it, I'm less convinced Rudy will go. There's a clear bias towards offensive players, IMO. Rudy's just not that.

As ridiculous as it is, it'll come down to our record as usual & unless we acquire an established starting caliber PG, I expect Hayward, Favors, & Gobert to all get snubbed as far as the ASG goes (although Gobert has an outside chance either way). There is always the possibility (even if it's an unlikely one) that all three (+ Burks/Hood/etc) are so good that we are a top team regardless of our PG play & at least one of them gets selected. Luckily tho, I see Gobert contending for DPOY & if he is able to win it, the publicity that would result could pave the way for our players to receive the recognition that they deserve.

All stars and the playoffs go hand in hand, come All Star break time if we're in the top 6 of the West than we'll have 2 All Stars (More likely to be Hayward and Favors imo, look at DeAndre Jordan being left out last year).....or if we're teetering on the fringe of the playoffs we won't have any at all regardless.......

Gobert might. Haywood (!) Might have a decline in ppg since Burks is back and will have his share. But then again, dat spacing doe.

I post therefore I am...

The names in bold are questionable to me. Thompson only got in last season because GS was such a better team then everyone else. If they do not do the same thing again then I can see him missing out.

Lillard is also questionable because Portland might be really bad.

And it's really pathetic and sad that Kobe probably is. The guy hasn't been all star quality in a while. The All star game is meaningless if it's voted on by fans. Sorry but I put no stock in an all star system that routinely puts guys that obviously don't belong in the starting lineup.

In the Eastern Conference they'd both have a shot. Maybe even Favors too, if he keeps progressing.

If Gobert puts up 16/12/2.5as/2.8bl-type numbers, that would put him near Dwight Howard and Alonzo Mourning territory. Those numbers are also better than what Marc Gasol puts up. He'd have to be in the discussion even in the West, though Gasol might still get the nod.

Keep in mind, Gobert had a run last year where he was putting up 16/14/2as/3blks. If he'll make his free-throws he can score 18ppg. He'll get a lot of attempts.

Damn

The problem Gobert is going to have is that they did away with Center as a position to vote for. So he is competing with all players that play in the post in the west. So he is in the same boat Favors is in.

Hayward on the other hand has a chance if he hits that 20/5/4 he was so close to last year and we have a good record. His competition isn't near as stout. These are the wings in the west that Hayward is completing with.
Harden
Kobe
Lenard
Parsons
Tyreke
Durant
Wiggins
Thompson
Gay

I think Gordon is quite a bit better than any other staring wing in the west. Harden and Durant are the only 2 that are a step above Hayward. Kobe is still a problem because of the fan vote. So there is a legit chance Hayward could get in.

I'd say no to both. Hayward will probably be close to it but would end up gettin' snub. The west is loaded with talent so it ain't easy gettin' in.
