Lakers will always exist in an ecosystem where they will draw top free agents regardless of their suckitude. As such, picks are meaningless to them whereas small markets like NOP cover them.

Picks arent meaningless. They just had to use years of drafting and future drafting to get the guy they wanted. If the Lakers **** up again, they could be in an even longer down period. Yes, they will always recover faster than other teams, but they have potentially ****ed themselves for the 2nd half of next decade.
