I hope Boston moves players to free up space for Hayward and then Hayward re-signs with the Jazz. Then they trade for George and sign Griffin.
Then PG leaves for the Lakers next summer.

The team that's most motivated to leak this story is Indiana, who wants to create urgency for teams willing to trade for Paul George. If other teams believe they have a chance to extend PG, they'll make strong offers to Indiana as well. It's not like the Celtics are the only team with young players or draft picks.
It's telling that Boston hasn't received permission from Indy to talk to PG to assess his willingness to cooperate with their plan.
Lots of moving parts. Plus not sure that Dan Clayton's point that PG would have to agree to a lot less money to sign an extension with Celtics has ever been rebutted.
Don't shoot the messenger. It's a new story from someone with slightly more credibility than Bleacher Report.

This would be the logical way to approach things for the Celtics.
The multiple positions of pitching a win now culture while also having the young players and assets to position yourself to win in the future is what I'm worried about. I think the Celtics can give a much better pitch to Hayward, I just am hoping Hayward decides to stay.
