What's new

Woj: Don to the Cavs for Markkanen, Agbaji, Sexton, three unprotected 1sts, two swaps, and a partridge in a pear tree.

Of course if he does that he would win it but that is not going to happen. With our depth I don't think he gets more than 20 minutes a game.
If it goes that way where he plays playoff team rookie minutes, so much for Wembanyama on the Jazz I guess. But if they are tanking there is no reason why Agbaji shouldn't get high usage off ball in a Klay Thompson or Desmond Bane type role in the starting 5.

Bane wasn’t ROY material. He could end up being as good, but I doubt it. He projects as a solid 3&D wing though
Bane did not get enough minutes in his rookie season to sniff the likes of Antman or Melo for the award sure.
I know it is not probable or even that possible a team who seems to be blowing it up could be tanking, sorry new here was going to put green text for sarcasm on that one

Even if we are tanking there are still only so many minutes to go around for him with Sexton, THT (who is still younger than Ochai by about 6 months), Beasley and NAW. That doesn't even include Clarkson. This roster is still a work in progress though so things can change quickly. He may end up finding more minutes at the 3 but even then I'm not sure we get him more than 28 minutes a game between sg/sf.

it will be interesting to see DM's career progress, but he was one of the most deeply unclutch stars of the NBA. I'm not sure what the stats say, but I, he, and every Jazz fan never had any confidence with him having the ball in his hand at the end of the game. For that reason alone I'm not upset about him jumping ship. As always, the only player I'll miss in all of this is Rudy.

Okay, I get Don's relationship with fans has always been weird on this board (My favorite was folks lambasting him because he... hung out Lebron in a gym). But every clutch stat available says that is utter bull****. Come on guys.

He's not wrong. 2(?) years ago Don led the league with the most misses from 2 feet away from the rim.

I’m calling you out on this one. Let’s see your stats. From what I’m seeing he shot 54% from the field overall, but 36% in clutch situations.

Do you not remember the 4th quarter collapses over and over and over… and over last year?

one of those 'yup, the eye-test fits the stats' situations. Every close game I would just cover my eyes. No shot had a prayer's-chance of going in. Sometimes he'd get the lay-up but the jump-shot? horrendous.

It seems like he was on the floor when we had all those bazillion point leads at half time and then end up losing the game.
