What's new

Working life

I think KEKs point is a vaild one...especially in the current fiscal environment.
Not in the context of teaching and that's where he was speaking from originally and where my comments were made.

Now with the rest of the jobs out there I would say it's a valid point.

I dont think you understand the meaning of poor? Does your wife not love you? Do your kids hate you? Do you not have the amenities of internet and a cell phone at home? Do you not have cable?

Ballou, please GTFO.

Let me rephrase for you, Dick. I am not a wealthy man. I make enough that my kids eat, live, and play. I take my wife out every once in a while. I buy myself a burger every once in a while. But I also drive a beat up 90's pickup truck. I have the free cell phone that came with the cheapest package. I eat homemade sandwiches for lunch every day. I don't go to Jazz games as much as I used to. I'm poor.

That being said, Dick, I love my job and my life. I've been blessed with a wealth of good people and good times -- but not monetarily, which is due to my lack of education. Stay in school, kids.

That clear things up for you, Ricky?

LOL, you're even more of a riot than Salty. Go back and read my posts where I talk about multiple factors including money.

But what do I know? It's all about the kids so I should go get my Master's at GCU where the richness of the education stands alone.

Still doesn't compute but whatever.

But what do I know?
Despite your claims, not much on this subject.

Look, the bottomline is that if you are a teacher then getting your Masters (and other education for that matter) is a good investment. With other careers maybe not so much. Just wanted to make that distinction.

Now if you want to get defensive and knock on my education cuz you don't have yours then whatever. I just hope you aren't so defensive and vindictive with your students.

KEK got owned. I kinda feel sorry for the guy. Really, I do. Rumors around here say he's a rant-buddy.

Im not sure I understand Frank. How can you say its not a valid point in the context of teaching, when teachers make so little?
