Would you trade #5 + Favors for the #1 pick?

Would you trade Favor + #5 for the #1 pick?

Would not even think for a second. To bad there would be no stupid GM who would do it, Favors is not worth it.

NJ traded Favors, Kanter, Harris and the ability to trade for Burke for Deron.

Who would you say won that trade?

I feel like we robbed nj in that deal.

I dont feel like helping cleveland rob us

I find it strange that people think Utah won that trade. The Jazz have a **** team with average-ish young talent. The Nets are decent. The Nets will have the opportunity to re-tool in a few years. The Jazz will likely still suck AND be capped out. Who won the trade? The Nets.

The Deron-era had peaked and was collapsing. And, there were a lot of indications Deron was leaving. What else was there to do except grab some assets?

I think the argument about who won and who lost is pretty mind-numbing. I understand KOC's thought process, and I think he got good value for Deron.

It's the 3 years of treading water after the trade that boggles the mind.

If our guys never improve then your are correct.

I think EVERY one of them will improve.
Meantime d will is only getting worse.... oh and how about that 20 million per year contract if we are talking about being capped out.

How much cap space do those nets have anyways? are pierce and garnett in thier prime? Is lopez healthy (we already covered d will)

The nets are not better than the jazz because they traded for d will imo...... i think they are better because DL put together a tank roster, the nets play in the east, and thier owning dont give a **** bout overspending like crazy

Agreed. The Jazz did well.

I don't think the Nets regret the trade, however. They're doing alright.

The Jazz won't be contending before Deron expires in 2017.

Also, Deron's still better than any player on the Jazz roster. He also led a playoff team in net +/- fwiw. He's not close to the player he was, but he's not nearly as bad as some on this board seem to think.

We'd be doing better, too, if we had a billionaire with money flying out of his *** and no fear of making decisions. Man, looking back over these last few years.... the only thing that makes sense is a lot of fear and conservatism in the face of a power vacuum. Greg Miller is obviously teh bomb.

Glad we agree, though.

How can the Nets retool? They have no assetts.

I think if we traded kanter, favors, and burke for d will we wouldnt be much better off financially and with his broken body we probably wouldnt be much better on the court

And all of us would be sick of him but because of his contract and health issue he would be untradeable.

We would be begging teams to take him from us

True. I overstated for effect. I don't think either team regrets the trade. Both teams did alright considering their respective situations.
