What's new

Would you trade ...

It's Friday and I'm bored at work. Bear with me.

How about this trade: http://www.espn.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=yb9bkxd7

Bucks get Valanciunus (the center they crave)

Raptors get Rubio (better contract than Valanciunus) and Favors (replaces what they lose in Valanciunus for the playoff run)

Jazz get Dellavadova (cheaper than Rubio the next two years), DJ Wilson (the meat of the trade for us - could we groom him as a stretch PF), Nogueira (expiring), Caboclo (expiring waive), McKinnie (nonguaranteed waive), and some kind of draft compensation from Toronto and/or the Bucks.

PHO appears to have the cap sace to acquire 2 of Rubo/Favors/Burks while sending Monroe's expiring in return. Could anyone see them being interested enough to part with a decent asset(s)? Is Rubio/Burks for Monroe/protected 1st realistic?

Favors to MIL/CLE seems like a logical fit & I imagine he holds a reasonable amount of value to them. Maybe Osman from CLE or a protected 1st from MIL?

(I don't know what type of upgrade DET may be exploring but I hope we atleast check on the availability of Kennard, who seems to currently be the odd-man out)

I also imagine Jerebko/JJ/Udoh/Seflosha all have some value as well to contending teams in need of depth.

We need to flip as many of them as possible, while retaining as little salary as possible, & allow our lack of depth to improve our draft position while (hopefully) acquiring additional future assets simultaneously.

It's imperative for this team to think 'long-term", especially considering that we're unlikely to be in a similar situation in the near future due to Mitchell's rapid development & (hopefully) a healthy Gobert. This trade deadline should be focused around flipping non-core members, shedding salary, & finishing with as high of a draft pick as possible. Freeing up money to pursuit Parker should be a priority as well.

Doubt Phoenix would take on either AB or Rubio for expirings... maybe 1 with Favs. No way in hell do you get a first in the deal.

I think Cle would be more interested in Thabo than Favs.

Mil might do Teletovic and Wilson for Favs

Teletovic and Wilson for Favors is the type of aggressive move we should be looking for. And a great cap cutting move for the Bucks to keep Parker.

I just wish we knew more about the Parker situation. If he is in the long term Bucks plans, then we should target Wilson. If the Bucks might let Parker go, I would hate for us to spend 2018 space (Favors and JoeJ expirings) on a deal before the deadline.

So Teletovic and Wilson for Favors if Parker is staying

OR

Burks and Favors to Phoenix for Monroe if Parker might be available for a big contract

To swing off HH in an earlier post: if the Bucks are letting go of Parker, everyone else should be worried as they likely know something everyone else doesn't.

Correct... and we would need to give up assets to clear space... and waive rod and Dante’s cap holds.

I can see us finding a way to use Favors to dump either Burks or Rubio, but I dont think we could dump Rubio AND Burks without giving up an asset.

We could always dump one now and wait until the summer to try to dump the other.

Without Rubio, Favors, JoeJ and Burks, we could give Parker a max.

Sweet so what you giving up to get off Burks and Rubio. So then you’ve given up players and assets to offer a guy coming off two major knee surgeries a max deal... a max deal that will get matched if the team that has the most knowledge thinks he will live up to it...

I’m sorry but that is a ****** plan.

If the Jazz got the 2nd overall pick in the draft (so no Doncic left) would you trade the pick+Hood+Exum for Aaron Gordon?

Would the Magic do that?
