Your Favorite Lyrics in Rock/Popular Music

Chad your BHG wasn't lost on me I will occasionally steal and post a few lines from that song especially and others, hear dude writes his own lyrics, he's got one creatively twisted mind.

And to go a little guilty pleasure and kinda take the thread down a notch for whatever reason these lyrics speak to and make me laugh inside, the line that gets stuck in my head is.

Hear the voices in my head
I swear to God it sounds like they're snoring
But if you're bored then you're boring
The agony and the irony, they're killing me, whoa!

Ebony and ivory live together in perfect harmony
Side by side on my piano keyboard, oh lord, why don't we?
We all know that people are the same where ever we go
There is good and bad in evryone,
We learn to live, we learn to give
Each other what we need to survive together alive.

Ebony and ivory live together in perfect harmony
Side by side on my piano keyboard, oh lord why don't we?

Ebony, ivory living in perfect harmony
Ebony, ivory, ooh

We all know that people are the same where ever we go
There is good and bad in evryone,
We learn to live, we learn to give
Each other what we need to survive together alive.

Ebony and ivory live together in perfect harmony
Side by side on my piano keyboard, oh lord why don't we?

Ebony, ivory living in perfect harmony (repeat and fade)

I hate songs that encourage open minds and togetherness. Music is a freakin escape. Give me songs about fast cars, sluty women, and kickin' some ***.

Ya because The Beatles and Bob Dylan, should have just stuck to singing about girls and not CHANGING THE ****ING WORLD

Music is a way to speak to people, to think that it doesn't have an effect on your emotion and society, is literally retarded.

On a similar note,
My favorite songs about togetherness and open mindedness
Shed A Little Light- James Taylor
Revolution- The Beatles
Imagine- John Lennon
Get It Together- Seal
The Trees- Rush (god, those guys were awesome)
Is This The World We Created- Queen
Blowin In The Wind- Dylan (I like PPM version too)
Times They Are A Changin- Dylan
Waiting on The World to Change- Mayer
Never Let You Down- Kanye/Jay Ivy

I'm sure there are others

I hate to come across as maybe annoying, but why the ommission of lyircs from various hip-hop related songs?? Like i love my classiccal pop/pop music, and bands liek the beatles and mr dylan and cash cant be touched, but far as lyrics theres some damn deep songs that surfaced in the 80s and 90s that kept thousands of inner-city kids/teenagers going through the rough.

Wait, what?

I thought that song was about internet porn.

Doesn't it have to change it for the better? Or is just any old change just fine. What if you liked it just fine before they "changed" it?

I am sure many Jews liked the world just fine before Hitler changed it.

^^^ see what I did there? ;)

Right... I'm sure John Lennon was a damn sure Neo-Nazi... but I can see you're being provocative. Well done.

@Marcus

I can't possibly imagine how you could imagine that John Lennon's Imagine is anything but imaginative. Imagine that.

It's good to see that I'm not the only one who loves "Rocket Queen" and "Estranged". The latter is my favorite GnR song and it's a shame it didn't get more love. It's so much better than "November Rain" and some of the other songs that got played from the "Use Your Illusion" albums. The other "Illusion" song I really loved was "Pretty Tied Up".

Love the Illusions. "Don't Damn Me" get's my vote for best lyrics. I think I listened to those albums for 5 years non-stop.

Now that I think about, that probably explains a lot.

That whole album was simply awesome. In fact, the worst song was one of their biggest commercial successes, Paradise City.

Welcome To The Jungle

It's So Easy

Nightrain

Out Ta Get Me

Mr. Brownstone

Paradise City

My Michelle

Think About You

Sweet Child o' Mine

You're Crazy

Anything Goes

Rocket Queen

I disagree. I love the whole album minus You're Crazy, Totally unlistenable imo. The slow version off of G'N'R Lies is far superior. For me at least.

My post to Loggrad98 was tongue-in-cheek. He seemed to get it. Too bad you didn't.
