I initially gave you a normal response, you gave me your typical ******* come back. I don't mind, but don't cry about it like you didn't deserve it.

Of course it matters what age he is. Rookies, specially young ones, typically have modest contributions, unless you're one of the top one or two in your class. I can't believe this is up for dispute. Lyles is a project, like a million other rookies throughout history. Some pan out, some don't. I think he's showing notable improvement very quickly, averaging 4 pts and 4.7 rbs in 13.8 minutes in December. Those are about the same numbers as Dinwiddie, only Lyles is 3 years younger, and has the potential to be a much better player.

I just can't believe we gambled on pure potential with Lyles, and it's not like his potential is wild athletic ability or length, it's that he has really good balance and his shot looks good (though when you actually look at the shot, it's always flat). It just reads as too much of a reach for the "hot thing" trying to get a stretch 4. It's just another display of our FO trying to get too cute and feeling themselves too much.

Portis was clearly BPA, at least as far as bigs go. And so far he is proving it. He has given the Bulls a huge boost and has already become their 3rd best big and might overtake Gibson soon enough.

The man we should go after is Spencer Dinwiddie. He's a good young player (22), who is big for a point guard. He is just a victim of a deep bench and can't get on the court. He'd definitely be worth a look.

I have seen some of that potential lately... I just thought when turner went off the board we'd trade down or take Booker because teams seemed to love him. I wonder if we could have moved back withboston and got anything good back.
