You can't combine TPEs with players.

Would we even want a player that expensive, yet still on the block?

Use the TPE to get PG under $10 million, but that makes not less than Harris. The other team gets a TPE.

The other other team uses their TPE to pick up Harris.

Rondo
DJ Augustine
Andre Miller
Jarret Jack
George Hill
Tony Parker?
Kirk Hinrich
Mike Conley

See little chance of getting Conley, Parker, or Rondo. The others I think could be had especially if Kemba can run the point. Barea probably overpaid but MN may be willing to trade him if they keep Ridnour. Dragic will be unrestriced but probably not the "man" either.

Oh, I have a good idea.
Why don't we create a new thread with our answers.
Then we can talk about the PG situation in 55 different spots.
Excellent suggestion. Each time I see a new thread on this topic I'm going to rack up another assist to you. If you get enough assists I'm going to start a thread called "JazzSpazz should be our new point guard!"

I think Calderon is the most likely outcome, and I'd be okay with him. He would be a much better fit than Harris. However, if the Jazz somehow acquire Rondo, I'll throw a party, and everyone is invited!

How about Greivis Vasquez. To me he isn't going to be an all-star, and many have said all-star pg's don't tittles. Vasquez can ball however and make plays.

The Jazz right now are like a team w/out a franchise QB. Teams in the NFL that don't have a franchise QB are screwed (Cleveland, Arizona, Seattle, Buffalo - too bad they thought Fitzpatrick was a franchise guy). Now some teams have their franchise QBs, but they're still a ways away from fullfilling their potential (Bradford, Ponder, Dalton, etc.), but they still know who their QB is going to be in the future and they can plan accordingly.

I'm not really sure where I'm going with this, but I feel like Devin Harris is the Colt McCoy of the NBA, and I don't like the thought of that.

Please, let this happen. I want a player that can play, not one that is going to airball important 3's in the 4th quarter.

Earl Watson >>>> Harris. Watson loves this team and is busting his butt for it. Harris is riding his free minutes.

I really think the most logical move to make is Harris for Calderon. Calderon's not the savior for the PG position, but he's a much better fit for this team. He's a pass first PG that is a much better shooter than Harris. While Calderon would be an improvement on offense, he'd also be a downgrade on defense.

Here's a Canadian article from two days ago which discusses this trade proposal:

https://blogs.canada.com/2012/01/18/is-devin-harris-an-option-for-toronto/

That article gave me the butterflies. Please lord Tebow, make this a reality.
