We need to have more of threads like this. I vote merge all other "TRADE HARRIS, THAT BUM!" threads into this one.

And shooting efficiency and lack of TO's despite heavy playing time.

I know Calderon from his European competition days, he has NEVER been even an average defender. He is a great passer, a consistent, reliable threat from outside but his stats does not mean much after realising that he was one of the main reasons why Raptors have always been a terrible defensive team + a team that got dominated by opponent backourt play. You put Deron in place of Jose to play with Bargs + Bosh, both would have played, hustled significantly better, more on defensive end. He is soft, does not like contact, not a good slasher or finisher around the basket - in PG standarts- , anymore.

If the Jazz will trade Harris, reasons why trade to get a proven pass 1st, shooter PG should be

- for a deep playoff run, or
- to help developments of youngsters (on which Calderon will not have a magical impact. Nearly irrelevant, actually.)

And Jose the Matador would not help the cause with his lackluster defense and lack of toughness, as well as his lack of experience in playoff basketball where teams actually have time to focus specifically on a team and try to exploit certain weaknesses and inexperience of opponents.

We got rid of Boozer, the matador, and I just do not want a Spanish flooper, another matador playing for the Jazz. By the way, if we are trading for a passer+shooter, let's go for uncle Nash, while we are ignoring the defensive side of the much important PG position. Calderon is a no-match for 37 year-old Nash, and that's an understatement, disrespect for Nash.

Maybe we should trade for Kirk?

Think we could trade CJ for Mo Peterson? Or for Rip?

Maybe trade AK for Marion?

How about trading Boozer for a defensive center (like Sammy Dalembert) and move Memo to PF?

Can we trade Giricek for something good?

How about we package the NY pick and garbage for something good?

I swear, folks, stop recycling old subjects a million times over.

We need a younger PG who can carry this team to championship contention in the next 2-3 years. Billups will be on Social Security in that time.

I'd send him to LA. He's not going to hurt us by going there.

I'm not not interested in Morris. I guess.

Is that where Bibby is?

Bibby sucks too.

I honestly haven't seen a worse collection of games from anyone in Jazz history than what Harris has done recently. Arroyo, Keith, Captain Crunch, all were pathetic. But in a way, they were limited physically. Harris? I would think his speed alone could translate into some points and assists.

Yet... For some strange reason, it hasn't.

Honestly, I wouldn't mind seeing Burks and Tinsley get chances at running the point. Earl has been fantastic. But if Harris can't figure this thing out, we need to look elsewhere. I'd be willing to see if Tinsley has anything left... and if Burks could create with his quickness some open looks.

If Nash is available for the same theoretical price then yeah, you go after the future hall of famer. The price/availability is the question.

I tried to negrep every one of utahjazz107's posts on this thread. Too bad it only let me do it once.
