What's new

You're the GM this offseason. What do you do?

Adding Kuzma into that group... is a stretch. He's growing, but not third star good yet. LeBron is aging. But if the window is open right now, gotta go through LA and Golden State and Houston and Denver. All you can do is worry about yourself. Conley goes a long long way towards competing with those teams.
Kuzma is an awesome 3rd piece but even better 4th. The Lakers aren't done. We need to be smart and patient. A 32 year old PG isn't our missing piece.

We need to be smart and patient.
Smart? yes.
Patient? What does that mean in a league where the average star contract is 3-years, and several of your competitors can assemble All-NBA talent whenever they decide they want it?

If patient is GM speak for "just lower your expectations because this isn't a level playing field" then being patient makes a lot of sense to me. As a Jazz fan I have adjusted my expectations and now all I want is interesting story lines.

Patient is don't go out and trade picks and all our space for Conley before knowing what we can or can't do in free agency.

Declining? Last season was one of the best seasons of his career. Wtf are you talking about

One of the best years of his non-all star career you say??? Yippee... It took the guy 10 years to get above 20 points a game. The time to get him was at least 3 years ago, not now. He’s 32 years old, do you really think he just hitting his stride?

He was a very good player long before he averaged 20 ppg. Points aren't the be all end all. I think that he can play at a high level the last two seasons of his contract, yes. His stats don't indicate he's declining.
