What's new

You're the GM this offseason. What do you do?

It’s a bad idea to take one of the biggest offensive rebounding, roll-man, and lob threats there is and turn him into a jump-shooter. The guy is who you create the space FOR, and he’d have to become Brook Lopez before any serious team is committing a defender to him out there anyway.
This. Rudy has no business ever standing beyond the three point line. He needs to be cleaning up the offensive boards, and setting up for lobs.

I mean, I guess for the occasional late-clock or trick play situation, it would be great to have in the bag. But that’s nothing to feature in an offense.

All I want from Rudy is to find more strength in his base, be able to punish mismatches with a simple move, and improve his conversion on non-dunks around the rim. With greater spacing and another serious threat on the perimeter, that gets him pretty close to 20 ppg if not beyond.

Hence, my comment about unduplicating talent. Trading Shaq or Gobert for Nigel Goss-Williams doesn't improve the lineup or your winning chances.
Neither does keeping a player that makes your team worse because of that duplicitousness.

Nigel Goss-Williams wasn’t a 1st round pick either. But, cute.

I didnt realize so many people were so high on De'Angelo. I can understand the appeal from his age, he's still young and got time to improve. But is he a good fit next to Donovan right now. Feel like Conley is a much better fit.

Oh yeah, Conley's definitely the better fit next to Donovan and the better player overall. I can understand the appeal of wanting a 23 year old over a 32 year old though.
