Fiesta of dellusion... (or Boston Celtics fans want to trade for Favors)

OP, thank you for the laugh. As an MA resident, I have the privilege (if you can call it that) of talking sports with Boston fans on a regular basis. Not all of them are delusional, but because of the local media, they are some of the most irrational fans that I have come across. 1) Favors isn't getting traded for anything less than a young, established, cost-controlled superstar. 2) To even begin discussions regarding a Favors trade with BOS, it would have to be something along the lines of the Celtics selling the farm (Smart, Bradley, Olynyk, & BKN's 1st's just as a starting point). 3) The fact that any of them view our selection of T.Lyles as Favors' predecessor is laughable. Although the media (Millsap rumor) clearly had a hand in this, some of those statements are even more delusional than most (if not all) of the insanity that occasionally gets discussed on this board. Not that everyone here doesn't already know this, I just had to comment on that absurdity.

Off topic(ish), I know he isn't an ideal fit alongside Exum long-term, but Avery Bradley is a player that I have long felt would be a great addition to this team. He is young, one of the premier peremiter defenders in the league, can hit a 3, & is on a very reasonable contract. With Boston now over-loaded at the guard position, there could be an opportunity to acquire him (without including Favors). It would likely be redundant if we intend to move forward with Burks, but I would love to have Bradley acting as our young version of Tony Allen. It's unlikely, but his defensive ability is the type of skill-set that could help to make this team a long-term championship contender. Personally, I would consider trading Burks (along with another minor asset or 2) for him. In the end, it's all hypothetical as the FO appears committed to our current group & is unlikely to make any significant moves.

OK, here's one more from a Raptors fan:

Derrick Favors is a very good young PF and I was wondering if the raptors ever tried to acquire him or any other team what would it take to get him?

Would an offer of Terrance Ross+James Johnson+Patterson+2016 NY pick+Clippers pick even get considered or get the convo started?

I have no idea what it would take to get him. So just wanted to throw this out there. From a few articles I read it seems like Utah needs shooting and defense so that's why I added those pieces (not sure if that's accurate but yeah).

What about a deal surrounding Lowry and Favors (with other pieces involved)?

Fixed for ya. Not everything mind you, just the most glaring one. You will get a bill.

Yeah that guy has no ****ing clue. What articles was he reading anyway? Were they from 2004?

Well, to be honest, some of the trades I've read on this board have been just as bad...offloading our spare parts for someone of real value.

Yeah, there's really no difference between some of the knuckleheads over there and the hacks here on our board.

Sucks to be the Celtics. They have a ton of C grade assets. They want to think they can package a lot of those for an A asset, but it's not happening.

Yeah, they have a ton of banners too. Sucks to be that franchise.

A new gem:

Zeller, KO, Bradley, Turner 2016 BK 1st for Hayward, Favors. Gives you Smart-Hayward-Crowder-Lee-Favors with IT-Rozier-Hunter-Sully-Johnson-Young-Mickey-PJones off the bench

Well, after hearing for two straight seasons the Jazz are trying to trade him, maybe Derrick decides to say "screw you" to the Jazz FO when he becomes an UFA. I HOPE the rumors were never true or originated from the teams trying to acquire Favors. If not, Derrick SHOULD leave. He's under appreciated, IMO.
